Scotty's ST:TNG appearance

I just watched the next gen episode 'relics' where Scotty is discovered in stasis inside of a transporter beam and at the end of the episode he heads off in a shuttle.

His appearance in the begining of the Generations movie is actually before this episode as far as the ST timeline goes.... I think?

So is the 'relics' episode the last we hear of Scotty in the shows/movies?

Yes it is, but since Generations was made years later there is a nit now because Scotty claims in Relics not to know where Kirk is, when he must have known he had died.

Re: Scotty's ST:TNG appearance

Thanks for the reply Dav, its a bit sad that the last we hear from Scotty he was putting away, alone, in a shuttle. I don't know what would have been better, he said in the episode he never wanted to leave the engineering room. Maybe one of those episodes that seemed like a good idea at the time but doesnt really work overall.

Re: Scotty's ST:TNG appearance

I appreciate that continuity is a complicated thing in a series as widespread and developed as Star Trek - but it would have been easier to not have Scotty in Generations. That would have solved some issues. I doubt if the writers/producers even recalled the episode "Relics" when planning Generations. At least they attempted to be careful with Enterprise - but that's a completely separate debate!
