Very good question. There were actually rumours before this series that we would see the Doctors Son. And I'm sure that either in the last Christmas Special, or in the last series, the subject did pop up.

Not too sure, but I'm going to hazard a guess that it, and the events from the start of the episode, may happen in one of the later episodes of the series... maybe even the finale. For the Doctor does talk about the dream at the start of the episode being set in the future - the year 2007, to be exact.

Re: 29.08: Human Nature

I think the Doctor mentioned "time agents" regarding where the technology came from allowing the family to follow him. Technology they had stolen. And presumably they would take over his body (forever), which is a good reason to be afraid; he muttered something about them dying quickly otherwise.

As for the boy, I know him best from "Love Actually", but I'm a soppy old git...

Re: 29.08: Human Nature

Yup this was the series high light for me I almost reached for my stanby cushon (for hiding behind) I would have hid behind the sofa but my wife was alredy there peeping out.

As to the technology being stolen, Jack Harkness had a stolen "Chula" warship, capable of from what I assumed time and Sapce travel. So not only do the DALEKS have this technology but the chula and Time agents have it too. I do wonder who they nicked it from. My guess is it was time agents they, looking at Jack Harknes, strike me as the sort they would have encoutered, (they the family), look like criminals of some kind.

The note book was a nice touch, very well illustrated, never knew the Doctor was so artistic!

I am looking forward to next weeks and hope it's going to be as good.

Eeeeek!

The scarecrows!

Top creepy henchmen thus far - not since the Kandyman have I been that unnerved.

'Twas a good 'where-have-I-seen-them-before' episode - the cream of English second on the bill actors.

But:

Why was the Doctor upper-class English? Not mockney, as per usual? Auto camoflage?
How come Martha's usual common sense seems to have gone out the window?
What's with prescient boy? If he's so psychic, why isn't he just where the bullies are not?
And why do all the new breed aliens have disintegrator-type guns?

I did enjoy it, a lot more than the Cyber-episodes last year, and Paul was glued to the screen. Glad Kez was in bed before it started, though!

Re: 29.08: Human Nature

Just watched it for a third time (don't know why... just for the crack of it, I suppose). Still a good episode.

I liked the Doctor as an upper-class Englishman. Lovely accent. It amazes me how, in every episode, he sounds so English, yet you then see him Confidential, or in some interview, and he's very Scottish. Yet he seems to be able to change his accent at will.

Oh yeah, in answer to one of my earlier questions, which is also what Tep said:

The stolen technology was a "Time Agent vortex manipulator".

On the subject of the notebook - I wonder if the team will sell it at the end of the series? Ooooh! And that reminds me. Me mam got a flyer from the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry a few months ago:

MSIM : Whats On : Doctor Who Overview

I think it's on until November, with more exhibits being added after the episode in which they star is aired.

Re: 29.08: Human Nature

Just finished watching this episode (well, I did say, I'm quite behind with them all!) and ooh, it was good. Evil scarecrows! And I like the Family of Blood, they may not have strange alien bodies but they are no less evil than previous creatures (in fact, I think they're even scarier (although the Daleks still win) with the strange, distant voices and the eerie head tilting and sniffing!)

And ah, isn't The Doctor lovely as an oblivious human, with his posh accent. He and Jessica Hynes make a sweet couple Of course, I can't wait until he remembers that he's actually a Time Lord, though.

The preview of the next episode looks very dramatic! And the great thing about being slightly behind is that I don't have the wait, chewing my nails in anticipation, for an entire week!
