Re: Samurai Champloo I like SC. It isn't the best I've ever seen, but it's got great style. Haven't gotten to watch is as much as I used to, as my mother now feels the near constant need to comment on the language, despite having heard all those words out of her mouth at one time or another. ![]()

Re: Samurai Champloo I cannot help comparing the SC with Cowboy Bebop. Then I found out that some of the cast & staff of CB were involved in SC. No wonder... But it might be more difficult to understand SC comedy/parody. Some of the parody have reference to samurai stories, Japanese histories, or Japanese pop-cultures.

Re: Samurai Champloo Whereas Cowboy Bebop is supposedly oriented to jazz, SC is based on hiphop, at least this is what I've read. Historically, it's frequently rather anachronistic, with references that jump over the entire Edo period, however, I think that's purposely designed as part of its charm. I know it really left me wanting more. Spoiler. highlight Did little Fu find herself some nice samurai and settle down, did Mugen go back to Ryukyu, and what did Jin do when he needed new glasses?

Re: Samurai Champloo I am having trouble finding this one. I want to watch ---whaaa - but I may have to buy it to see it. Man, what to do, what to do...It's a bit expensive, as anime is prone to be.

Re: Samurai Champloo I'm stubbornly waiting for a decently priced boxed set. I've had it with the four-episodes-at-a-time thing. If top-rated American television can sell for $2 an episode, why's anime selling for $4 and 5?
