I'm not sure about the companions but my fave 5 Doctors are-

1. David Tennant
2. Christopher Eccleston
3. Tom Baker
4. John Pertwee
5. Patrick Troughton

Not sure on the companions either, but I grew up likiing both Adric and Peri, so they'd be on there somewhere...

Was there not a companion that died?

Yes, Adric died trying to stop the Cybermen crashing a spaceship into Earth and destroying the human race. The episode ended without the usual theme tune, just the credits running up silently. I cried. I was very young, you understand...

I know it was so sad when Adric died I cried I was also very young when I saw that ep.And there some of The Doctors companions that did survive. Sarah Jane, Jamie, Ace (i think) Victoria, Rose (on another earth but still alive) and Martha (unfortunatly ) i dont like her i'm afraid. There were few other companions that did survive too but i can't remember who they were. But if anyone else remembers who they were .

Don't forget Peter Cushing..he played the Doctor in the film Dr. Who and the Daleks.

Jon Pertwee was always my favourite until Chris Eccleston.

In the entire series, there were three Companions who died:

Katarina & Sara Kingdom (both died in The Dalek Masterplan)
Adric (died at the end of Earthshock)

My favorite Doctor will forever be Tom Baker.
My favorite Companions are Romana II and K9.
