Re: Deathly Hallows - who's going to die?

I'm waiting a little. Plus my sister works in a bookstore so I should be right.

I have a speculation...

I've heard this and told some people about this and they have agreed that this sounds like a plausible ending to, Harry Potter and, the deathly hallows.
This is what i've gotten from different sources.
Harry kills voldemort, but a curse gets shot from voldemorts last whispers of life ( a nvbal spell ) and then Harry dies and Ron gets killed about 2 chapters before this happens. Then it skips later into the future and Hermione is almost 24 and married to V.Krum and they both agree their baby's name should be Harry.
Please do not flame this idea. I have heard from a lot of people that this MAY happen. Thanks.

If that is the ending then I am NOT reading it. That is SH*T!!!

Re: Deathly Hallows - who's going to die?

Surely J.K can think of something more creative and with a better twist that that rubbish. I swear, if it's anything less than a gloriously written ending a very very VERY good ending I'll boycott her for life. I've invested...however many years reading these enchanting books and an ending that's anything less than pure perfection will be such a gigantic let down I might have a mental breakdown . I'm expecting something, shocking, twisting, and well just plain fantastic. We'll soon see if I get my wish.

Re: Deathly Hallows - who's going to die?

Now, I'm not a great fan of J.K Rowling herself (and everyone around here has probably seen my rants about the books!) but just think how she's feeling knowing that there are millions of people all around the world all wanting what you've said above, Mirinda. And all those millions of people have completely different tastes and opinions. Whatever ending she writes, it won't please everyone, that's for sure (you can please some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time!). With such an enormously popular book, it's probably hard to keep the story as your own but I'm hoping that she's stuck to her guns and written the ending that she wanted to write.

Re: Deathly Hallows - who's going to die?

All I truly want is an ending that makes sense, is well written and flows with the story. I don't care if she Kills Harry, Voldemort or every other person in the book as long as it makes sence. The only thing that would tick me of is that Harry dies then comes magically back to life or something foolish like that. I do have a sinking feeling Harry will die (though I certainly hope not), but that bothers me much less than some bubble gum, sugary ending where only Voldemort dies and everyone lives happily ever after. Facing a true evil, there has to be a sacrifice. Personally Ithink one of our belived golden trio will die...but then who knows with J.K.

Re: Deathly Hallows - who's going to die?

Depends what you mean by end, of course. I would think that, like the "big death" in Phoenix, any deaths (trio, Weasleys, OOTP members, DA members etc) will be in the 90%-ile, leaving the last chapter or two for the wind-down.

There will be a death in the trio. I mean how could there not be? And then the other one. Some one that is well liked...One of the Weasley twins or Hagrid really are the obvious choices.

All I know is that no matter what, the ending of such a great series is going to make me quite deppressed for a while. I don't doubt that JK will put her all in the final scenes of HP.

Well cause the expectations are so high, everyone will be let down at least a little bit...unless JK can upgrade her writing to that of Tolkien's.

Re: Deathly Hallows - who's going to die?

9 DAYS TO GO. Im kinda scared. If it so happens ill get the book by 12:15 am 21st of july, but i really don't want to read it all in a couple hours. I might read a chapter a day. There will be no more after this, my life will go back to boredom. (The movies i don't really anticipate)

Well if you manage to read only a chapter a day then I congratulate you on your self-control.

Re: Deathly Hallows - who's going to die?

Well, i'm going down to my local Ottakers with my kids to get it at midnight , theres lots of games and activities going on.

After seeing the JKR interview on jonathon ross, she has made it clear that there will be a lot of deaths. The whole thing about 2 characters dying, was that they were 2 "extra" victims.

So, I think there will be multiple surprising losses. I can see a lot of the Howarts teachers going, defending something they love, the school.

At least 2 Weaselys, several pupils, a house elf or 2 and maybe 1 of the Dursleys even? Oh and please please do in Umbridge!

She jokingly described it as a "Bloodbath" then rescinded this comment. I reckon it will be heavy on the casualties, just like any nation that is at war.
