| Re: Overview of his Song of Fire and Ice series? [quote=Florian the Fool;845223] Two, it's not finished yet. Some people (like me) enjoy the delicious sense of anticipation this creates. Others find it more stressful. At this time, no-one seems quite sure how long it will be before the series is complete, so make sure you're ready for a long wait. quote] Like me. I am going BONKERS waiting for the next volume. I tell you, if GRRM dies before finishing this, I'll bloody KILL him! ![]() |

| Re: Overview of his Song of Fire and Ice series? Actually, I'm worried that I'LL die before he finishes it. Really, it would be such a nuisance. And, more likely than not, it will be my dying thought... "Now I'll never find out the end. Just like me, I can't even die like normal people, worrying about my loved ones..Nooo, I have to wonder weather GRRM will have Jaime killed." |

![]() Actually, if there's one great thing about ASoIaF that stands above most of the others, it's the fans. Seriously, you'll never find a better bunch of lads and lasses willing to have a grand time, get ridiculously drunk and go and watch Snakes on a Plane with in an appropriately ironic fashion. It's also a surprisingly effective dating network, as I think myself and Raven can attest ![]()

Still, at least that would prove that neither of you are GRRM. Now I need to develop my theory that Aegon and Boaz are the same person...

| Re: Overview of his Song of Fire and Ice series? Whoops! That did actually sound quite dubious. Whilst a great person, Raven isn't really my type... But to be serious I wouldn't have met my gf if I hadn't read A Game of Thrones eight years ago, which is a slightly bizarre chain of events. All good though ![]() |

| Re: Overview of his Song of Fire and Ice series? What do you get when you combine GRRM, Florian the Fool, Pictures in the Attic? Hmmm, sounds like the makings for The Picture of Florian Frey... just don't go over for dinner. Wow! Should I be flattered or frightened? Flattered: Aegon is obviously smarter than I am, Aegon has a loving wife, and Aegon is still on a career track that lends to his application of knowledge for our benefit. Frightened: If I was actually posting as two people 1) I should come up with better interactions and wittier replies, 2) I should have more of you guys supporting either Aegon's or Boaz's theories, and 3) the level of patheticness (is this a word?) that I'd actually be reaching by posting as two people would be worthy of prompt psychiatric help. |

| Re: Overview of his Song of Fire and Ice series? Me i am reading A Game of Thrones and i must wonder one thing. Does anything actually happen storywise in this book? I have read over 200 pages and almost nothing has happened. I dont care much for the characters so i dont care when one of them dies. Except only sometimes i care for Jon and Tyrion but its not often you see them. One big minus with GRRM is that he cant write a fight scene atleast not in this book. |

| Re: Overview of his Song of Fire and Ice series? Keep reading and you'll get very surprised, shocked, etc... (out of synonyms ) Maybe nothing happens now but it has pretty scary begining, don't you agree? Be sure that it will be more of that moments later. |

| Re: Overview of his Song of Fire and Ice series? Well, I can't understand why none of the characetrs appeal to you since this is why most people read GRRM: his depth of characters and the fact he uses different points of view to tell the story. Different strokes for different folks...Maybe you'd like Brooks better if you like fights so much...or Jordan (snicker). |

Dont misunderstand i dont want only action it just that the characters dont appeal that much to me yet. Even if they never do if there was a good fight scene then i didnt waste my time with him. Diffrent points of view dont impress me that much. Its just a gimmick, a way to tell me the story. Depth of characters i havent seen yet. If i like the characters or even one of them after the book then i will read more of the series. The characters is the most important thing for me in a fantasy.
