Re: Martha vs Rose My point is that aside from the fact that she is a med student martha is no better than Rose and that nether of them has never saved the day. I still like Rose better I can't stand Martha shes so BORING.

Re: Martha vs Rose Didn't Martha save the Doc last week? i love the dynamic of Martha and the Doctor- she isn't exactly a damzel in distress, she's bright and inquisitive-she got him to talk about his home planet and refuses to be brushed off. She demands a more equal footing which I like.

Re: Martha vs Rose Just watched "The End of the World" again. Definitely one of Roses best episodes. The kindness she shows to ill fated the blue plumber, her flirting with the Doctor as he alters her mobile.. And, sorry for seeming superficial, but while she may have been the helpless damsel in distress, she looked very good doing it.

Re: Martha vs Rose I sorry but I just have to point out Rose saved The Doctor In more ways than Martha ever could. I sorry but Rose did all the work and Martha is just reaping the benerfits. The Doctor never would of told Martha anything about his home planet if he had met her first. Rose may have acted like a pushover sometimes. But as kosmayer said she looked good doing it which is more than can be said for Matha.![]()

Re: Martha vs Rose I'd always root for Rose. I don't think it's always good to have a companion who can practically cope with almost anything. Rose learnt from her experiences. Sure, she's a lot less educated and secure, but I think Billie's a naturally phenomenal actress whereas Freema needs some more acting lessons.

Re: Martha vs Rose I thought it was going to be very hard to beat Rose, I didn't want her to leave the series and was anti Martha before I even watched her. Now I think she is brilliant. I really don't know who's best, they were both good for what they did. It was great to see the Doctor falling in love and Rose was fantastic in the part. But too much of it and it would have had no where to go. An old married couple, is still an old married couple even if they are flitting round universe like some SiFI Heart to Heart. It had to finish and we needed someone different. To my mind we got a great contrast and Freema has been superb. As to who needs more saving and is more competent: Martha was brilliant in Family of Blood.

Re: Martha vs Rose I really liked her in the first episode, but have changed my mind since. Her acting in this one was terrible, especially when she trys to sound amazed when she's tellling a story. I agree with what others have said, Sally Sparrow would make a great companion.

Re: Martha vs Rose Not quite.. She's back for the second half of Season 4 and there'll be 2 companions... I personally prefer Martha, she is a much better companion than Rose, Rose was alright but that whole love thing really grated against me and even though Martha has a bit of a crush on the Doctor (well, who wouldn't)... she doesn't let it get in the way... I'm so so relieved that Martha is back for a second season and it'll be great to see her in Torchwood. Anyway, according to the BBC, this season has proved the most popular and the producers are convinced that Martha has a lot to do with that... xx

Re: Martha vs Rose Rose all the way. I really don't like Martha, she just grates on my nerves, it would have been okay if she didn't pine after the Doctor so much (I know, who can blame her, but still!). But I am a huge 10/Rose shipper, so you could say I'm biased. xXx
