| I live in Columbia, SC, and have been a Wiccan Witch for 11 years. I am an Earth Witch/Green Witch, as well as a born Empath and psychic. I went back to being a vegetarian 5 years ago, lost 40 pounds, and gave up sugar and dairy. And I am also a gardener with 3 flower gardens in my yard and a container garden in my office window (large window with very wide sills) where I grow fresh spinach 365 days a year. I have been involved in feral cat rescue for almost 30 years and currently have 5 housecats (all tamed ferals) and a feral colony of 7 cats I care for. There were 21 cats in this colony over a year ago, but I slowly got them all spayed and neutered and have been finding homes for them. No surprise my Patron Goddess is Bast, the Egyptian cat goddess! I am a writer by profession and run a publishing company called Kittyfeather Press that publishes my series of Occult novels for women. I also write Pagan articles for magazines across the web, as well as dark urban fantasy book reviews. I have been married for 28 years and live in a house next to a state forest, which is where my feral colony lives. One of my favorite things to do besides writing novels is to talk about them! My favorite dark urban fantasy authors are Lilith Saintcrow, Jim Butcher, and Madelyn Alt. At the moment I am reading Dracula by Bram Stoker, a classic I somehow missed reading all these years (lol). I think that's it. I am happy to be a member of this forum and look forward to some great discussions. Magickal blessings! |

| resident pedantissimo | Re: Hello Everyone...I'm new! Hello, there. I'm sure you're going to find lots people here to talk to; if nothing else (and, believe me, there is plenty else) there's a sub-community of Aelurophiles (no, I had to look it up, too. And I was brought up by cats. Furthermore, my dictionary prefers "ailurophile". End of this digression; there will,I fear, be more) We tend to avoid religion as a topic, not because of its lack of interest, but its tendecy to drive dissention beyond the rather polite, low key levels we favour here. Still, there are other pagans here, as well as others who would just love details for stories they are writing (undisciplined mind dashes off sideways to the similarities in origin and the differences in application of "paganism" and "patriotism" - come back! My brain needs footnotes.) Were you intending to come into the "aspiring writers" corner, or are you beyond all that? Nice to have you; I trust I'll be seeing you around |

Thanks for the warm and rambling welcome!! I love rambling letters, makes me feel right at home (grin). I'm so new at this point I don't know my way around, so I thought I would spend some time this afternoon getting to know this fabulous site better. As for the "aspiring writers" corner, I don't know anything about it. Do I belong there? You tell me. In my intro I left out the part about how I have published 35 novels and poetry books (some by my company and some by other publishers) and have been nominated for the Pulitzer Prize and received seven Pushcart Award nominations, as well as winning numerous other awards. My short stories and poems have also appeared in over 700 print and online literary journals and ezines worldwide (not to mention my book reviews which have appeared in thousands). But this is not unusual for a literary writer, because this is my career, and I have been at it for 18+ years. So what do you think? Where do I belong here? At any rate, I look forward to having many wonderful discussions with you. Thanks again for your kind words of welcome!

I would say don't ask, but since you did. No, I saw Chronicles through Google. Actually, I don't use a crystal ball. I don't think real Witches use them, or at least I don't know any who do. They use other things like bowls of water or mirrors for scrying. Or tarot or runes for divination. Because I am an Empath and a psychic, I use my "third eye" most of the time for "seeing" into the future or the past or for seeing and hearing from spirits. And I also use tarot. Oh, no...the plot thickens, yes?!!
