Hello

Hello to all !
I came upon this forum while googling Haviland Tuf. A very nice site.
With the arrival of summer, I'll be spending much more time online. (And inside)
Take care,
Steve

Re: Hello

Ah, Florida (we seem to be getting quite a little sub-community from Florida, or is that just an impression? Anyway, hope it doesn't become sub-marine too soon) that will explain the "inside"
So, what are your preferences (apart from coolth) Favorite authors, books, films, directors, sub-genres? mourns official interrogation chair, and they won't even allow me toescrews and molten lead any more. Spoilsports.

You have been warned that attempting to leave this site can cause withdrawal symptoms, and should not be attempted without medical supervision? No?

Sanity is optional but, as the site has been known to have some adverse effects on same, it is generally recommended to leave it at the entry (in case you might have some use for it after leaving, though I can't imagine what)

A pleasant and sunny disposition is not required, but be warned there are those here who have a long expertise in being nasty. Very few bite.

Do join in; there's bound to be something here that interests you, or you know something about, ot possibly even both.

Welcome aboard.

Re: Hello

Hey there everybody.
Thanks for the kind welcome. A little more about myself...
I enjoy reading SF,Fantasy (Tolkien!), Mystery and History books. Birdwatching and separating my quarrelsome cats has become a new hobby... I live in central Florida among ancient Live Oaks and decaying citus groves. I attend a couple of SF cons a year and listen sceptically (?) to other aging fans predicting the death of non media fantasy and SF.
Forums like this prove them wrong... I hope.
Thanks for reading and please stay weird.

Re: Hello

Meowrr and Namaste. Just know that you are doomed. Escape is impossible and you really should not believe anyone who tells you they are quite sane by any accepted standard. In return we offer books, movies, music, cats and possibly chopsticks along with conversations on just about anything and everything along with peanuts, cakes, chocolate and whisky.

As for the basement, please feel free to visit. We're always hungering for visitors. A visit to the attic would be fine so long as you bring a basket of Gorgonzola with you. A visit to the piranha pool would require you to read them a chapter from Moby Dick.

Come visit the Tea Room (The Quiet Room) and tell us about your favourite authors, movies, music ... It's always a good idea to bring something intriguing for the cat when visiting.
