| Re: hi Well, that's a lot of help! ![]() Why not tell us a bit more about yourself? What authors do you like? What are your favourite films? Do you prefer SF, or Fantasy? Whatever you like, you'll find a thread here to suit you - or just pop along to the Quiet Room and enjoy the chat - you'll be very welcome! ![]() ![]() And did you really join in 2005, and wait until now to post?? Don't wait until 2009 to reply, will you! |

| resident pedantissimo | Re: hi I suppose I'm going to have to agree with the others here (much as it goes against the grain); this place is far more enjoyable when you dive in and participate. As one whose browser forced him into involuntary lurkership, I can affirm this unequivocally. Don't be afraid that your posts will make you look ignorant, or stupid; many of us like showing off our erudition, and the shortest distance between two jokes is a straight line (unless they're post Einsteiniem jokes, in which case it's a geodisic) Oh, and don't worry about it; nobody else understands me without a translation program, either. Welcome in - what are your interests, what drew you to this region in the first place? You must surely have something in common with others you can discuss? Most of us don't bite, and I don't think any that do are venimous. |

| Re: hi Meowrr and Namaste. Just know that you are doomed. Escape is impossible and you really should not believe anyone who tells you they are quite sane by any accepted standard. In return we offer books, movies, music, cats and possibly chopsticks along with conversations on just about anything and everything along with peanuts, cakes, chocolate and whisky. ![]() As for the basement, please feel free to visit. We're always hungering for visitors. A visit to the attic would be fine so long as you bring a basket of Gorgonzola with you. A visit to the piranha pool would require you to read them a chapter from Moby Dick. Come visit the Tea Room (The Quiet Room) and tell us about your favourite authors, movies, music ... It's always a good idea to bring something intriguing for the cat when visiting. |
