Unfortunatley with the missed oppurtunity that was Alexander, I feel this would be a non stater.

LEGEND MUST BE MADE INTO A FILM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then all the Druss books as Prequels with an uknown quite man mountain actor in the lead (He would become Druss, Like Christphoher Reeve IS Superman)

Legend would make a good film.

But so also would the Jerusalam man or Waylander.

Re: Do u think any of gemmell books will make it to the big screen

I'd always thought Gemmel's books would make good movies. He's got vivid, larger than life characters and he's done a very good job with descriptions.

His plots and people, like Lord of the Rings also seem to fit with the troubled times of today.

It would be wonderful, personally, to see movies like this again but as has already been said here they would have to be done well and stay true to the spirit of the books.

Actors would have to be found that match up to being a Legend for instance.

It's not impossible. Lord Of The Rings is a good example of what can be done. I'd like to see his books on the silver screen, starting with Legend.

For me it would have to be Legend as it is completely self contained and with the effects we have seen in say 300 (great movie) I think it could be done.....who would play Druss...

They already did that one. It's called "The Outlaw Josey Wales."

Seriously, that's exactly who I thought of when I started reading the Waylander books. I could even picture Clint (the young Clint - from the 80s!) playing the part. Good stuff.
(Hereoes in the Shadows is my favorite - gotta love Yu-Yu!)

I also think Kebra the bowman could be played wonderfully by Scott Glenn.

Re: Do u think any of gemmell books will make it to the big screen

Dolph isnt rugged/gruff enough to play Druss and somehow just cant imagine him with a black beard looking imposing and saying the word - "Laddie"

Still stick by James Cosmo or Gerry Butler for Druss.

Rather than JVD for Skilgannon, I reckon Mark Dacascos would do a better job. See "Brotherhood of the Wolf" for an example, not the best performance but an example none the less.

For Skillganon how about the guy who played Darth Maul in star wars? Seem to remember he was pretty good with a lightsabre.

Re: Do u think any of gemmell books will make it to the big screen

I'm not sure who could play Druss, possibly that dude with the beard in 300..if they used cgi to make him a bit bigger!

I've always associated Shannow with Clint Eastwoods "Preacher" character from Pale Rider.

It's a pity Clint is too old for the part, he would have been perfect for the role.

This was my first post here! Hi All!
