Re: News

Just discovered that Paul Kane's forthcoming Dalton Quayle collection Dalton Quayle Rides Out can now be ordered from Waterstones online (though no amazon link as of yet).

The book was supposed to be available at last Saturday's Alt-Fiction, and the official publication date is today, but I'm awaiting the cover image, and once that's been finalised then it shouldn't take too long to be printed.

Re: News

The TTA website is currently being re-designed, but it can nevertheless be viewed here where you'll find Peter Tennent's review of In the Rain with the Dead, the debut novel from Mark West.

"Not for the squeamish... [the gore] is more of a context for the violence and as a result it is all the more effective... West's skill makes us invest emotionally in these people... a fine first novel... a talent to watch."

If that has tempted you, then the book can be purchased here and here and here and here.

I was really pleased with the review and Peter's kind words really brightened my day.

Of course, buying the book would brighten it even more!

Re: News

Talking of reviews, I've just been notified of one upon the sfcrowsnest site for my anthology, Choices:

"Overall, this is an anthology of well-written novelettes but with three that stand out. 'Kid', 'Memory Of Joy' and 'Radio Trauma' are certainly worth buying this volume for."

And who am I too disagree? Buy it, and buy it now... and make me a happy man.

(btw, it and the stories within have made the nominations list for the British Fantasy Award.)

Re: News

Just discovered that John Grant's anthology New Writings in the Fantastic can now be pre-ordered from amazon (not to mentioned the Pendragon site).

The anthology will be launched at this year's FantasyCon.

In other news: Dalton Quayle is finally at the printers, and I should be receiving the first run by the end of the month; and Triquorum II is selling well - no reviews yet, though I have received lovely e-mails from those who pre-ordered it.

Re: News

Just received from the printers the first run of Paul Kane's Dalton Quayle Rides Out.

Two novellas that star the eponymous hero, gentleman, detective, explorer and raconteur, along with his good friend, Dr Humphrey Pemberton, who together battle ravenous sea-creatures and a giant lizard from the mid-West, whilst at the same time keeping the British end up.

According to Tom Holt's introduction, PK is a "a tenth level master in the Way of the Joke."

Simon Clark reckons, "if you miss the turn into Baker Street you just might find yourself here. Ripping yarns with a spiffing sense of fun!"

And Jeffrey Thomas considers Dalton to be, "tremendous fun."

Pre-ordered copies will be despatched within the next few days... but you can still nab one of the signed copies if you're quick.

So, anyone else going to FantasyCon to buy me a Guinness?

Re: News

Pendragon Press has a new website: Pendragon Press

It's been wholly redesigned by Ariel, and the old site will eventually fade into the mists of time.
