1.12: Second City episode synopsis borrowed from TV.com: TV News - TV Shows - TV Listings - Entertainment News. Dresden and Murphy must work together to solve the mystery of a former gang member who drowns on dry land, miles from the nearest lake. Meanwhile, Murphy's father is in town, and he doesn't have a very high opinion of his daughter's freelance consultant. There will be spoilers in this thread.

Re: 1.12: Second City I just noticed that the episode title seems to have nothing to do with the story what so ever. I tried to watch the episode in terms of just being a tv show, without thinking about the books. I thought for tv it was good. It had a nice complex story to follow. The only part I found predictable was Murphy reconciling with her father. I just hope that sci-fi channel decides the ratings were good enough to give them a second season. Maybe even a full 22 episodes this time around. We'll see.

Re: 1.12: Second City Yeah the reconciliation was really predictable. I like shows better when 'bad' things happen along with the good. Like, if Daddy Murphy had died, but they still got the bad guy - it's more interesting. Or, if Dad had really been the bad guy - the promos made it look like he would be - then, of course, he wasn't. Also - I detest with a fiery passion the 'shipping' of Harry and Murphy. I hate it because it's one of those things that they are pushing really hard in the series, despite 'ladies man' Dresden in half the other episodes. it's just - ugh. I'm not a 'shipper' anyway - and then when the show INSISTS that *this* is the ship you have to see... that bugs me. I wasn't overly impressed with this episode - as a season finale, it wasn't as impressive as it could've been.

Re: 1.12: Second City I tend to agree that for tv, this was a pretty good episode (when not taking the books into account - even though I haven't finished reading through them yet). I can't believe that this had such a short run, though.

Re: 1.12: Second City It seems that a lot of new tv shows get a half-way investment these days from the networks either as a mini-series, or half a season. Either way I'm sure The Powers That Be will take their sweet time in deciding whether or not to renew it. I don't know why they wouldn't, it's a lot better than something like Eureka.
