Self Publishing and e-bay

In the May issue of Writers News WGP there's an interesting article regarding self publishing.

Taff Lovesey has acheived some sales success on e-bay with his own fanatasy novel The Spider Gem. He has decided to open an eShop for independent authors which offers a low cost (as low as 3p) listing option.

The eShop subscription is paid by Taff and he hopes to recover it from memeber book sales.

"I am not runnig it as a profit scheme but merely to share this outlet with other authors...."

Taff's eBay shop for independent authors is at eBay UK Shop - Lovesey Independent Books: Fantasy, Filmmaking, Gardening

Thanks for the link, mosaix. I think it's a great idea especially for the budding writers. Also a good way to discover/uncover the real talents.

I'd love to see actual figures and not spin. There's every suggestion from the brief snippet that he's actually losing money with the venture, and therefore not being very successful at all with it.

Re: Self Publishing and e-bay

Brian, I think for some self publishers any sales are a success regardless of whether there's any money made.

But, it's early days.
