RAH Reading Group - General Thought this might be a good place for some feedback regarding how discussion is going, or positive or negative feedback on what we get out of reading a work together. Do we want to continue? Is there value in this 'Reading Group' thing? Suggestions for ways to improve for next time? I wish we did more...I wish we did less...I wish that TT guy would shut up already...You get the idea. Might also be a good place to throw around titles for next work, etc. Basically, any stuff not to do with the work we are discussing in an effort to keep the threads a little cleaner for later review.

Re: RAH Reading Group - General TT -- you might look at the original reading thread for CN... it might give you some ideas on how to set things up. Quite a few of us, for instance, will be reading lots of other things in here, too... so having the Heinlein titles too close together might not be a good idea. However, get the feedback, and see how others here feel... how often, etc., then model it accordingly.

Re: RAH Reading Group - General Any thoughts on an acceptable frequency guys? Any thoughts on the Puppet Master thread yet? What are you liking? What would you like to see that you aren't? Anything bugging you about the conversation yet?

Re: RAH Reading Group - General I’m a newbie as reading groups go, but definitely enjoying it. As to frequency, I’m flexible and open at this point. There is the book of the month format. I am not opposed to a faster clip, especially early on while the initial enthusiasm is high. It’s a tricky balance to maintain some momentum, but not loose participants due to insufficient reading time. In any case, a set schedule will help everyone plan his or her reading schedule.

Re: RAH Reading Group - General Hi TT Didnt take more than a couple of messages to figure out which one was you. Thanks for the invite, hon. It does look like fun! I dont have a copy of TCWWTW, but Ill grab one quick and see if I can join in on the next one, kay? I'm not a big typer though so dont expect me to write essays. Don't worry...write as little or as much as you want...just thought you would enjoy the Heinlein stuff...have fun! As far as the name...read a few threads, it is out there all over the place now...try Introducing Heinlein. Look in your personal profile for Personal Message if you want to chat direct on here.

Re: RAH Reading Group - General Feedback.... I'm enjoying the reading group a lot. I think we've had a lot of great discussions and interesting points from everybody. I don't think we should move on to the next book quite yet because aren't there people still reading? Like dsmith? Up to you guys. I have already begun reading TCWWTW, because it's sitting here, staring at me - begging to be read! ![]()

I set this thread up mainly because I've never done anything like this before. I'm hoping that those of you with more experience with reading groups will give your guidance. | |

Re: RAH Reading Group - General You're doing fine, TT - the only thing that I find a slight problem, is remembering from the title what's happening in each particular thread. But that's down more to my rapidly shrinking number of little grey cells than anything else! ![]()
