| Goblin Princess | Re: The Rune of Unmaking: A DARK SACRIFICE -- Dec. 2007 Yes, aarti, it's the same cover art. Bookstop, by teaser, do you mean the HS chapter I posted here? Unless my editor says no (and I don't know why she should) there will probably be something along those lines in the fall. |

| Re: The Rune of Unmaking: A DARK SACRIFICE -- Dec. 2007 Hallo, Teresa! (Sorry I disappeared for awhile back there! I've been busy doing an MA in Children's Literature in the UK.) That is excellent news indeed. I've been a member of the review site Rambles.net for awhile -- I'm ashamed that I haven't gotten around to reviewing The Hidden Stars for you! And now I'm going to be two books behind by the time I get back home... Anyway, congrats! |

| Goblin Princess | Re: The Rune of Unmaking: A DARK SACRIFICE -- Dec. 2007 I'm very glad to see you here again, Ailanna. To me, studying Children's Literature in the UK sounds like the ultimate bliss. (Involving much hard work, I'm sure, but very, very rewarding.) I thought of you when I was at BookBuyers, recently, and wondered how you were doing. |

| Re: The Rune of Unmaking: A DARK SACRIFICE -- Dec. 2007 Best of luck with the upcoming book Teresa. Needless to say I'll be purchasing this book when it comes out on the strength of HS. I'm pleased to see you're including a detailed synopsis of HS with Book 2. It always annoys me when authors omit summaries as it means I have to go back and skim though earlier installments to remember the critical points in the text. |

| Re: The Rune of Unmaking: A DARK SACRIFICE -- Dec. 2007 Hi! I look forward to this sequel. The first volume is the only one of your books I own in English. Now I can appreciate your lovely prose. I loved Goblin Moon and The Gnome's Engine. Sadly the translation into German is extremly bad. They translated "sensible" as "sensitive" and "man of the cloth" as "clothed man". If your new books will ever be translated try to get a better translator! Best wishes from Germany! Maria |

Unfortunately, when foreign rights are sold it's the publishing house buying them that chooses the translator; the author has no say in the matter at all. Not that it would be any better, in my own case, if I did have a choice, my ignorance of any language other than English. Anyway, welcome to my little forum here at the Chronicles, Maria. (Oh, and regarding Goblin Moon, there may be news of a reprint coming up soon.)

| Goblin Princess | Re: The Rune of Unmaking: A DARK SACRIFICE -- Dec. 2007 I checked the amazon listing today to see if they finally had the cover art, and sure enough they did. But the release date was December 1, which I thought a little early, since Eos used to release their trade paperbacks later in the month. So off to the HarperCollins site to see what they had to say, and they are saying "In Stores November 20." Strange that it would be available in stores before amazon gets it, and strange that I wouldn't know they had switched it from December to November. So now I don't know what to think. (But of course I am hoping for the earlier date.) |

| Re: The Rune of Unmaking: A DARK SACRIFICE -- Dec. 2007 Me too! I've already searched for it on Amazon to see if I could add it to my wish list. While I was at it, I ordered a copy of The Queen's Necklace. I look forward to reading both books (although I might want to reread The Hidden Stars first, since its been a while). |

Of course it was a short-lived relief, since I am now working on Book Three and they're already asking "when?" But I'm excited about the scenes I'm writing now and about scenes yet to come. HS and DS are both rather ... chaste ... not by specific intention, that's just the way they went, but there seems to be a significant element of sexual tension building in the last book. Also, there are going to be many revelations about the past (some of them are turning out to be revelations even to me.) In DS there were few surprises for me (though I hope there will be many for the reader) since the events of that book had been planned out well in advance, but I was always hazier about what was going to happen in the third book, so writing the new one is more of an adventure.

| Goblin Princess | Re: The Rune of Unmaking: A DARK SACRIFICE -- *NOVEMBER* They've changed the listing at amazon from Dec. 1 to Nov. 20, and they give the November date in two or three places on the HarperCollins/Eos site (along with a little digital clock counting down the days, hours, minutes, and seconds -- as if we're all going to be storming the bookstores at one second after midnight on the day), so I'm now convinced that must be the actual release date. It's really too early for me to get excited, and yet ... there is something exciting about finding out that it will be for sale eleven days earlier than I thought it would be. |
