Fanfiction? Right. I have searched all over the internet for fanfiction and can't find any. Ths has led me two ask two questions: 1) Is it actually legal? 2)If so, where is it??? Only asking this since I seem to spend the majority of my time reading or writing fanfics.

Re: Fanfiction? I've never read any fan fic from David Gemmel readers I don't know if some will appear now he has sadly past away, but why would you want fan fiction when there is so much to read that he has writen himself

Re: Fanfiction? I've read all of the books. Most of them several times. And I love fanfiction. And I also would like somewhere to post mine. Anyway: another question. If I was to start a fanfiction site for Gemmell's books, would anybody read them?

Re: Fanfiction? OK there is a website out there that does have some fanfic on it. Personally Im not a fan of it as I feel that it can do a number of things. 1) It can change the characters in much the way that certain fan fic did for Star Trek where Kirk and Spock "got it on." 2) It infringes the intellectual copyright of the author and should a piece appear say Druss vs a dragon and then DG had written a tale with Druss fighting a dragon then the fan could technically sue for copyright, although the author could counter sue for the theft of his copyright in the first place. It gets really complex. Personally I always think its best to write your own stuff, you can do what you want and not have to worry about anything. Likewise if you had to do something Fanfic wise Id advise just putting it perhaps in his world rather than meeting known characters. However if your imaginitive to write something like that your imaginative to create your own stuff so why bother.

Re: Fanfiction? I think FanFiction is best for things like computer games, where the story is usually so shallow that the fanfiction succeeds where the story itself fell short. I have read and been involved in some really good story threads created from fanfiction of the various CRPG's and MMOCRPG's that I have played over the years.

Re: Fanfiction? I just really find it weird that you can take the time to be so creative about a number of things and then cheap out on designing your own world and rules, its not that complex.

Re: Fanfiction? I agree. At the moment, I'm working on writing on my own novel, and while i'm certainly inspired and influenced by Gemmell, I'm trying to create something hopefully new and interesting.
