I have a problem (But don't most of us)

The story I'm writing, just isn't being written. I had a break for a while just so I could catch up with myself but it still doesn't have the same effect that it use to have. Should I start a new story and put this one aside or just wait - It'll come back

Write down what you can, then leave it overnight. Usually when I see the final results I bin it, but you may have something decent. I do know that staring at a blank screen (or page) does nobody any good.

Re: I have a problem (But don't most of us)

That's what I do. Whenever I'm not sure about the idea or concept, I write it out first - maybe in note form - and then leave it for a while. If I don't have the same enthusiasm as when I started, I'll leave it in an ideas folder to maybe look at later, because somewhere along the line I might find something that suits it better.

Re: I have a problem (But don't most of us)

I'm more than a year "out" of the muse... I'm just too flighty and keep moving onto new projects (non-writing) and just assume at some point I'll swing back into the plot...

BUT, reinforcing all the above, all my notes, plot-ideas, sketched time-lines, character-notes etc were all written as notes at the times, so hopefully it should be relatively easy to pick up. With any new ideas coming from the past year...
