Re: I'm new here Welcome, Cydon. As a relative newcomer to the world of the Wheel myself, I asked myself the same question. My answer would be yes, keep reading, but keep an open mind about the story. There are similarities between the WoT and LotR, but as the story goes on (and given the amount of books Jordan has written so far, you'll see what I mean) you'll find more and more differences - at least, I have. ![]()

Re: I'm new here It's a fairly well written book and the world Jordan has created is interesting as are some of the characters. Do be aware that this is the beginning of a very long series (12 books so far) and it does bog down and waffle on around the 6-7 mark for a while. Also the series is not yet complete, but as Jordan is finishing the last book now, you stand a good chance of it being out by the time you've worked your way through the series. Oh, and welcome to the forums Cydon ![]()

Re: I'm new here Thanks! I'm on page 347 now. This actually all started 2 or 3 years ago. My nephew bought me the book Crossroads of Twilight, he didn't know it was book 10. I started reading it, but didn't quite understand it. I picked up Eye of the World and The Great Hunt at Goodwill, but never got around to reading them. Every once in a while, I'd visit Goodwill and find The Dragin Reborn and Crown of Swords. So I picked up those too. Now, I'm finally reading them, and wishing I wouldn't have waited.

Re: I'm new here I'm new too to the boards, but have read the all thats been written in the series so far, and re-read some of it for that matter. Its probably one of my favorite fantasy books. Definitely worth reading, and bearing with books 6-7 (I actually stopped reading for a while around book 6, when I was first reading it). -Thinbalion

Re: I'm new here I love this series! Its one of my favourites and i would say definetly keep reading! Book 9/10 is a little slow, but book 11 is great and definetly worth the two slow books before it!
