If you could put yourself in an Eddings book, or series, who would you most like to be and why?

*doesn't have to be your usual gender or species!*

I'd like to be either:

a dryad - I love trees, and the Dryad mating season sounds fun *waggly eyebrows*

or

A Shining One. It'd be fun, glowing, changing hair and skin coulour at will, and would save me a fortune on hair dye!

I like the idea of being a Shining One (what were they called - the Delphae, was it?) but I can do without the outcast bit. Still, being left alone like that would give me the perfect chance to catch up on my reading!

Still, being an Atan would be interesting. Or should that be Atana?

they're very testosteroney, so you'd probably have to hide your attributes with armour, beat all the guys at sword fughting, then take off your ogre-horned helmet to reveal flaxen braids...or something.

Markida, hello! Whic theives guild would you belong to? Stragen's or PLatimes? I'd go with Stragen. (I seem to have a thing for blondes!)

I do much prefer Stragen out of the two of them, but I'd love to work with Talen, which would mean Platimes. I guess if we're talking Tamuli terms Talen and Stragen work a lot together then, so I can have both!

Stragen seems to be a bit more .... civilized and urbane then Platime. That would be my reason for heading to Thalesia to work under Stragen. And Talen is destined to become the next Prince Consort and a knight so would he have much time to spend with the thieves guild?

So HappyHippo are you saying that a 5'4" brunette girl wouldn't blend in with the rest of the Genedians? I wonder if I could chain mail in platform high heels? :P

As long as I could work with Talen a bit I'd be happy, and working for Stragens guild would be much fun. Although I do like the rugged, underground feel of Platimes guild. Much prefer to work with Stragen though. Couldn't I combine the two? Move Stragen to Elenia, that could work right? I'm sure Platime wouldn't mind :P

Well, he does end up marrying Melidere - prevail upon her to make Stragen move to Elenia and he would. No doubt who is really the boss there .... but, were we going to ship her off the Island of Annoying Characters as well?

No, I liked her, she was a thief :P If a slightly more devious/subtle one, which made her all the more likeable imo. I'm sure I could talk her into moving, and she could rip off all the gold coins in Elenia as well. Or did she already do that? I can't remember where she started her devious little scheme.

She did the gold coins in Elenia - that's where she was from. Using the profit made in Elenia she bought the title of Baroness and became a member of Ehlana's court. Which always made me wonder, Ehlana didn't know that the coins were be devalued (though it had no effect on the money anyways) but did she ever know that Melidere was a girl from common stock?

But anyways she wanted to branch out and her relationship with Stragen was part of that goal.
