Jerren Tasmel is Ayora Xema's wingmate. Though not as naturally gifted as Ayora, Jerren is a focussed and dedicated pilot, and a valued member of the squadron. The whole squadron - bar Ayora - can see that Jerren feels more than friendship for his wingmate, but just as he'd summoned the nerve to say something, his home planet has suceeded and declared war on the Federation. Now Jerren is torn between his friends - and his love - and his duty to his home and family...

Vorl Windborn

Vorl Windborn

Vorl Windborn is a member of the dominant species from Aerie, Rigel VI. The planet has no mountain ranges to speak of, and the winds sweep uninterrupted around the globe, leading to the evolution of an ecology that spends just about all its time in the air.
The first thing that strikes you about Vorl are his huge, ten metre wide wings, formed from extremely attenuated collar-bones and shoulder-blades. The membrane between the bones is very tough, and as the Aerians almost never land on the surface of their planet, heals from any rip or tear extremely fast. Aerian bones are hollow, to save weight, and their legs have atrophied to mere stubs. Living, sleeping, mating, all are carried out in flight - children are born, and spend their first year, (until their wings are developed enough for flight), in huge balloon creches, endlessly circling the planet.
You'll never see Vorl off-world, except when he goes up to the orbital station - free-fall and his home planet are the only environments that he can really live in.

After she graduates top of her class, she'll move to Gerehim-IV, where she's been offered a job in the lab of the preeminent cyberneticist, Samuel Ngaya. But that was before something went wrong with her final project, when the cyborg she'd been designing, Calliope-2112, somehow downloaded her 'soul' directly into Callie's brain...

Brother Matthew

The nickname was first started as a joke by his friends, but soon the whole school was calling Matt "Brother Matthew." It annyoed the heck out of him at first, but now he's warmed up to it. Matt plans to become a Scientist and is well on his way to accomlishing that goal.

An assumed surname, at least, Ella definitely lives up to the name of "Power". The only daughter of two superheroes, she faces more or less the same challenges as any fifteen year old girl, except for the fact that she incredibly strong. Moreover, she is still getting used to her power, so quite a lot of things get broken as she tries to find the limits of her abilities. Other than that, she is a normal, cheerful girl.

But when the murderer is found dead in the alley, or the rapist is discovered slumped lifeless by the side of the track - when the extortionist is found suffocated by the payment demands stuffed in his mouth, or the child abuser disappears in the night - somewhere about the body, there will be a small calling-card, with a picture of a bloody knife, and the engraved name of - Fylroy Dagger!
