Forums in sci-fi

Whilst watching some anime the other night, I saw an episode of Ghost in the Shell which featured a representation of a forum, and it got me thinking about how fictional forums/chatrooms appear in sci-fi.

Ok, a quick description of the forum in GitS. The story takes place in the not too distant future, where the next must-have accessory is to have a minute computer installed into your brain, so that you can access the internet or computers by your thoughts alone. The forum subsequently required you to download your mind in order to take part in the discussions.

Can anyone else think of any other kinds of fictional forums, featured in sci-fi? It piqued my curiosity.

Didn't Ender's brother and sister become celebrities via forums in Orson Scott Card's 'Ender's Game' series? I don't remember any examples of the chatroom 'events' though maybe some of the text was quoted.
