Re: The greatest anime of all time Naruto is an okay show. The Water Country arc was the best part of Naruto, IMHO. The main characters were starting to gel and there was some good character development. Zabuza and Haku were great and compelling antagonists. The following arcs after that, particularly the filler arcs that are not part of the manga I found somewhat retarded. Usually in a story like Naruto's, a character develops into something more. In Naruto, I found the main character tends to devolve. Sure he get more powerful, but he doesn't seem to learn from the mistakes he makes. I don't know if I just have a bias against stupid characters. Characters like Naruto and Beet (from Beet the Vandel Buster) bother me. Maybe its because they tend to preach a lot in a holier than thou manner one minute, then goof off and get themselves in trouble the next. They just come off as giant posers. On the other hand, take a character like Luffy from One Piece. He is comparatively even stupider than the two I mentioned before but I love him. He's a big goof but but doesn't come off as a poser when he says something inspirational. Maybe its just a matter of character consistency.

Re: The greatest anime of all time It's dbz but with ninjas...The comic is one thing which is great.. The Anime is total trash, It's like they're tring to appeal to the 5-10 year old audiance with fart jokes. They use gap fillers constantly combined with constant flash backs to eat up time. DBZ did the same tactics to extend out the shows length. When Sasuke leaves the series in the first season you can stop watching.. the rest is all crap. Even the new season which is airing is filled repeating information and gap fillers to buy time. Bleach even has been following this bad mistake.

Re: The greatest anime of all time I haven't seen as much anime as I should to form an opinion, but from those I have seen, "Howl's moving castle" is one of my favourites. I didn't like "Spirited away" that much, there's something cultural about it which makes it difficult to understand it entirely. Also it's loooong.

Re: The greatest anime of all time It's spelled Elfenlied, and it is indeed quite enjoyable, especially the beginning of the first episode. It certainly makes you want to know how the series continues. ![]() One of my ultimate favorite Anime-series must be Last Exile, beatiful graphics and an interesting storyline. Not that there aren't others I can name, like GTO and Gokusen. (After all, they don't have to be about S&SF, do they?) And don't forget Ah, my Goddes, or Midori No Hibi, there just too many to mention... My favorite Anime-movie? Pff, Not so easy. Akira I liked, GitS also, Wings of Honeamise was quite interesting, but from the movies I've watched I think I liked Spirited Away the most. I do have one condition for watching Anime: it must be subtitled and not dubbed! Even though I don't speak Japanese, I still feel you lose something if you don't hear it in the original language.

Re: The greatest anime of all time ALL anime is dubbed. Some of it is just dubbed into Japanese first. Which only leaves the quality of the dub in question, and there's been a lot of bad ones. I vote Fullmetal Alchemist best anime of all time. Gorgeous, tragic, funny, beautiful, thought-provoking. It's got it all. ![]()

Re: The greatest anime of all time Fullmetal Alchemist I feel is on of the best, didn't really like how it ended though. As for Naruto the english version can burn and go to hell. The japanese one is much better, nothing is cut and the kids dont sound like child molesting 40 year olds. And Dragonball is another good one followed by DBZ up till Cell Saga cuz anything after that failed. Gt was the biggest Failure of all the DB.
