Very well, you're both hired. With Dwndrgn already signed up, I should have a good team of readers from Chronicles. I'll let you know when I've got a big enough chunk for you to get stuck into.

Re: Dawn Dragon - the whole Prologue

You guys have got me all inspired about this again today. I managed to write some more of the story after I'd done my stint on Imperial Assassin. You never know - you might start getting instalments sooner than I originally intended.

Sounds good to me. I just re-read the prologue this morning and remembered all the questions it put into my mind. If a story has that many questions arising in the prologue, it should be a well-rounded story for sure!

Re: Dawn Dragon - the whole Prologue

Hi Mark - just got round to reading the prologue and was very impressed (and hooked!). I know you discussed this concept with me at the Worldcon, but I must have missed this thread in the past.
On a specific note, I noticed your use of the word "dragonspore" to describe the trail left by the dragon. Was this a typo of the word "spoor" or is a deliberate describing word. I ask because now I'm imagining special mushrooms left by the dragons as they move around

Seems you have plenty of fantastic proof-readers already onboard, so I'll just content myself with continuing to plow through the Darkweaver Legacy.

Hi WS,

Yes, you're right, it is a typo of spoor! I suppose I could edit it on here - I've already got the edited version stored in my laptop. But this was the raw draft, and in some ways I like the idea of people seeing the first version, mistakes and all. Just goes to show that nothing comes out perfect first time around!

I hope that you don't find The Darkweaver Legacy too much of a 'plough through' type story! I look forward to hearing what you think of it.

Re: Dawn Dragon - the whole Prologue

Those of you who are lined up to be proof readers of this story, get ready. I should finish the draft of Imperial Assassin next week, so I'll be full steam ahead with Dragon Pact then. I've pottered a little with it already, so I now have about 5000 words done. I expect to be able to send out the first 10 000 words to you at the beginning of December.

Re: Dawn Dragon - the whole Prologue

It looks like you're set to be one of these 'prolific' writers then, Mark?

I look forward to seeing how it's progressing - feel free to post a few more sample paragraphs on here, btw....

Re: Dawn Dragon - the whole Prologue

WS, I hope to be 'prolific' 'pandemic' 'poetic' 'polymorphic' and just about any other positive 'p'! (Especially prosperous!) My biggest aim though is not to be 'posthumous'!

Re: Dawn Dragon - the whole Prologue

Yeah, not many writers come back from that last one, although quite how you'll be pandemic without sneezing on your books before dispatch is beyond me...
