There are some writers who choose short-but-sweet introductions and others who go on for as long as they feel is necessary; Jordan's A Crown of Swords has a whopping 56 page monstrosity that contains several points of view and raises questions that aren't answered until the next, or several books later (if at all). The best advice I can give you is not to constrict yourself to any boundaries; just write. |
