Re: First Lines

"What am I looking at?"
"If we're lucky then it's just the destruction of this solar system and everything in it."
"And if we're unlucky?"
"The destruction of the entire universe."
"I can't help but notice we're not moving."
"Where would we go?"

The bi-polar Ace of Spades was really starting to piss me off. It was an 'Aces High' week and he was lording it over everyone else in the Suit, bigtime.

Re: First Lines

I had made all the preparations: bought tickets, packed bags, made sandwiches for the trainride. Little did I know how much things would change that day. The day Magic appeared in our world.

He was the sort of person who'd leave a note saying he'd set a bomb in the building you were standing in and sincerely wish you the best of luck.

Re: First Lines

Looking out the window, he couldn't quite place the season. For that matter he couldn't place where he was. That was when he realized, he didn't even know who he was. He stepped backwards towards the bed and sat down. Something felt warm and wet beneath him. He turned to see the bloody lump on the bed. The only thing that was visible was a hand. A petite hand, with a matching ring to his own.

As his attention shifted from the ragged stump of his forearm to the matching hand on the floor, all he could think to articulate was, "Hunh... looks like I dropped something."

Well, I think it all started when Father refused to take me to the fair. I had been a very fragile child then.....

There was an audible chrunch as ten year old Tony jerked his hands to the left and killed his mother...again.

(Missed this before: made me laugh out loud)

The money wouldn't change me. But spending it would.

I'd fallen. Like an Angel. Like an optimistic lover. Like a price on the stock exchange. Like someone had cut my parachute.

The river divides the city like no-man's land divides front-lines ; with casualties on both sides.
