Re: First Lines

If I've told you ten times, I've told you a hundred. Don't touch that cross-dimensional transmutation button... button... button...

(I posted this as a final line, but then thought it might just as well work for a first line)

(A first and a last line in the same book, perhaps)

There was just one more thing he hadn't done. Shouldn't take too long, he thought.

Wrongly, as it turned out ....

The arrow came from the direction of a group of priests wearing the sky-blue of Shah, God of Peace, and took my companion clean through the throat.

Re: First Lines

Finding that you'd suddenly lost two months would come as a surprise to anyone - especially under such circumstances.

Re: First Lines

There's a word for it. A word for where you have to start all over again and try not to make the same mistakes. A word for taking a set-back and making it work to your benefit.

I have no idea what that word is and for damned sure it wouldn't have covered how I felt when I found I'd lost two months of hard work in a stupid computer crash.

Now I need to write a story to go along with this!

I knew things were starting to go wrong when I noticed eleven messages on my phone, and all from the same person. Him.

I don't mean to brag, but I think you could call it the worst mistake ever made by anyone ever - and I made it.

I’ve heard it said, that she is not all bad. That she can even be angelic at times. But when I asked where the cat had gone. . Well, I could tell from her expression, the answer was not going to be good.

Re: First Lines

I usually love Mondays. Plenty to do. Lots of tired-looking commuters, hungover workers ... yeah, Mondays are great days for us demons.
