| Re: I guess this makes it official. Welcome to Chrons! Certainly welcome from the days of being a mere viewer to plunging into the realm of posting alongside us nutters. 50's classic movies, eh? Cinematic wonders such as The Day The Earth Stood Still, Them!, and many, many movies with rubber monsters attacking New York whilst people below stand and scream! Brilliant! |

| resident pedantissimo | Re: I guess this makes it official. People here "a bit on the odd side", you say. Really? I'd hardly noticed; familiarity creeps over ona about the same time you notice you've become a Chroniholic ("Hello, my name is Chris, and I can't stop myself from posting on this site; no, I'd better not tell you the name, it could get you hooked too") Ah; stop-frame animation, though it should be Tokio rather than NY; they always seem to save the big apple. So, where was I? Oh, yes, Welcome in, and always remember that an "asylum" is a place of refuge , before and above it's more recent meaning of "a place in which to enclose those with whose mental processes you do not relate. |

| Re: I guess this makes it official. Hi Monkey Eggs: As you've probably suspected by now, this isn't really the Chronicles-Network, it's actually the Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Literate. We switched the sign out front (I think Hoopy and Pyan did a splendid paint job on the sign, don't you?). I hope you don't mind. It seems to attract far more potential victims, er . . . . fresh blood, um . . . . new members than the old one. So, greetings and salutations! Revel in this feast of good cheer and sup at the table of inspired frivolity with the largest collection of fantaisistes, science fictionistas, cognoscentis of the outre and connoisseurs of the macabre in the known galaxy! And besides, anyone who's a fan of HPL is a friend of ours any day! |

| Re: I guess this makes it official. Thank you all for the kind welcome. I feel warm and cozy and only mildly threatened, which is as good as it gets. Love the tag line, Curt. On the fly, eh? And that doesn't strike you as a bit cavalier? I understood such things required extensive preparation and great precision in the execution, if Mr. Ward's experiences are any indication. It's as I say. I skulked around for a while (after landing here on a Blade Runner related search) and eventually thought "I must join," and now I have nothing of any consequence to say. Oh well. |

Escape is impossible and you really should not believe anyone who tells you they are quite sane by any accepted standard. In return we offer books, movies, music, cats and possibly chopsticks along with conversations on just about anything and everything along with peanuts, cakes, chocolate and whisky. ![]() As for the basement, please feel free to visit. We're always hungering for visitors. Shogoths eat sanity so you can give yours to me when you come to pick up your towel. ![]() Come visit the Tea Room and tell us about your favourite authors, movies, music ... It's always a good idea to bring something intriguing for the cat when visiting. |
