New Discworld film A snippet of news and so far it's looking good.(ps the links don't work because I have cut and pasted the text) Movie In January 2006, it was revealed that directorSam Raimi has signed up to make a movie based on this novel, from a script by Pamela Pettler, the writer of Tim Burton's Corpse Bride. Sony Pictures Entertainment have recently acquired the rights to the book. The producers are Josh Donen, Vince Geradis, and Ralph Vicinanza. No other details have been released about the movie adaptation. Sony have bought The Wee Free Men, one of the children's Discworld books, and Sam Raimi is going to be doing it. And I'll have some involvement with that but frankly, because it's Hollywood, the author doesn't really get his hands on the train set. You just hope you've picked the right people and it's going to work."

Re: New Discworld film Actually, the links do work. Apart from Pamela Pettler, and that's because she hasn't had a Wiki page made for her.--- It's interesting that there's going to be a Silver Screen Film of a Discworld novel. In an interview about The Hogfather, Pratchett said that he didn't want to put any on the big screen because he'd have very little input.

Re: New Discworld film Well they would be! It's Channel 4! ![]() OooH! I played a demo of Discworld for the PS1 - it's a game following Rincewind and the luggage in Sourcery, I think. It was actually pretty good.

Re: New Discworld film Yeah, the animation adaption of Wyrd Sisters was pretty bad, and I once owned both Discworld one and two for the original Playstation. For the most part, I think the games---the first, certainly---is for fans only or someone who has all the cheats infront of him because it is so easy to get tired of the dialog when a person must repeat them several times throughout the course of figuring out what the heck to do next. If Sam Raimi directed a Prachett film, I would among the first waiting in line for tickets. ![]()
