| Thousand eyes and one! | Re: Not so important connections In ACOK, Arya's false argument that convinced Gendry to run with her was that, once that he's commanding Harrenhall, Vargo Hoat will cut one leg from all of the servants, the left one. In AFFC, when Jaime gets to Harrenhall, one of Gregors man says that the cook opened the gates for them as a revenge to Hoat for choping of his left leg. The cook is also shown walking funny in the same chapter. So the"Kid" was right after all. |

Re: Not so important connections Hilarious Joke - Even though you know what happens, this series has so many characters, hidden details and themes that every time you read back through them you pick up something new you didn't catch before. This thread is living proof of that. There are so many unanswered questions, but GRRM has left us a smattering of clues that may shed some light on what may be. My first read through I had no inkling of the R+J=L theory, once I started catching on to that I was like...woah...who was Rheagar again? Last edited by Bazza; 2nd July 2008 at 11:46 AM.

Re: Not so important connections Ha ha ha, yeah good point. I guess I'm just relying on other people to point out these awesome obscure cross-references to save me the effort. Keep 'em coming!

Re: Not so important connections This is probably already mentioned, but when tyrion comments in A clash of Kings about Tanda inviting him for dinner, hoping to wed him to her daughter Lollys, he comments to Bronn, that he should dine and wed lollys in his place. A couple of books later, he has done just that.

Re: Not so important connections Hopefully, he has reached as high as he can. I do think he has a connection with Varys and it will be interesting what role he plays when Dany and Tyrion come charging into Westeros.

Re: Not so important connections Forgive me if this is old news but, when the crannogmen was at the Harrenhal tourney: "There he met her pack brothers: the wild wolf who led them, the quiet wolf beside him, and the pup who was youngest of the four." I'm assuming the quiet wolf was Ned... At the feast, "The crannogman saw a maid with laughing purple eyes dance with a white sword, a red snake, and the lord of griffins, and lastly with the quiet wolf...but only after the wild wolf spoke to her on behalf of a brother to shy to leave his bench." I believe that is Ashara Dayne that Ned is dancing with. Perhaps this is where they first met? First she dances with her brother, Arthur Dayne and Lord Connington. Not sure who the red snake is though. By the way the mystery knight is totally Lyanna....
