WhiskeyJack (Contains Spoilers) Your thoughts? I am hoping he is ascended, I am a fan of the Bridgeburners (except for Ganoes paran, i dislike everyone of house paran, i do not see him as a real bridgeburner as well)

Re: WhiskeyJack - Dead or Ascended? ****Plenty of Memories of Ice Spoilers**** It's been made pretty clear than the Bridgburners have ascended, Whiskeyjack among them. Personally though, I hope we don't see him again. Like Itkovian, his death was crucial in the end of MoI, and to see him come back would seem like a bit of a cop-out on Erikson's part, I think. He's got enough characters to carry the series, he doesn't need more coming back.

Re: WhiskeyJack - Dead or Ascended? he has said in a 2003 interview that he wont be coming back, but the thing is while the Bridgeburners are ascended, Wisjeyjack fate seems more uncertain, i recall someone wondering where was Whiskeyjack when they think of the 'ghost protection'. I think it is too bad, Whiskeyjack was the sole reason why i kept reading in the first place (the books are hard to get into in the beginnig), and i always wished to learn more of him.

Re: WhiskeyJack - Dead or Ascended? Ah, but the beauty is that even if he doesn't come back, we'll likely still learn more about him I think at some point Erikson is gonna drop some bomb-shells about the founding of the empire, and WJ is likely to be heavily involved.

Re: WhiskeyJack - Dead or Ascended? I don't want Whiskeyjack to come back. I said goodbye to him in MOI, it wouldn't seem right to bring him back. I want to know more about his past yes, but I'd rather he stayed dead. Last edited by nixie : 6th February 2007 at 08:25 PM.

Re: WhiskeyJack - Dead or Ascended? sorry to say I would love to see him back, I know his death was a massive thing, and so important, i cried, I just think he has something else to bring to the story, I don't think he has finished

Re: WhiskeyJack - Dead or Ascended? *Possible BH spoilers* I certainly think WJ ascended, if the rest of the Bridgeburners did it's almost certain he was among them. Especially since Hedge said in BH that even the first Bridgeburners who were long dead had ascended. I think he's an awesome character, but I agree his death was an important part of MOI, and to bring him back would make that scene a lot less emotional.

| Re: WhiskeyJack - Dead or Ascended? I'm suprised that SE said he's not coming back, when i read MOI and they ascended I assumed the bridgeburners would be seen again and so it never really felt like it was goodbye ![]() Man I can't wait to re-read this series, it's hard to follow when your only reading them once and then waiting a year or so for the next one, with about a gazillion books in between. | Re: WhiskeyJack - Dead or Ascended? I'm neither one way or the other as far as Whiskeyjack continuing in the story. However I do have a lame theory that Whiskeyjack might not be reappearing in the story as Whiskeyjack, rather under another name in the same way that Kellanved becomes Shadowthrone etc? |

Re: WhiskeyJack - Dead or Ascended? *BH Spoiler* It was discussed in BH by Queen of dreams that Whiskeyjack's death was caused due to the interference of Hood. WJ's and Dunsparrow's history was later explained by Fid too. IMO, if Hood wanted WJ dead, I see little scope of him ascending ![]()

Re: WhiskeyJack (Contains Spoilers) Just to let you know that I've altered thread title to remove spoiler for character. Please don't take that the wrong way, it's just that some people on Chronicles might have only just started the series.

Re: WhiskeyJack (Contains Spoilers) Did we actually see Whiskyjack die and buried? I'm not sure now, but if he ascended then my guess is he'll comeback - which seems one of Erikson's pastimes! I think Whiskyjack did his fair share and should be left in peace!

Re: WhiskeyJack (Contains Spoilers) Well this may be a spoiler but Erikson said that Whiskeyjack wasn't coming back. He said he would lieave him in peace or so, that thats what he deserves. We did see Whiskeyjack die in MoI. The question remains though, wether he is dead or ascended even if he will no longer take an active part in the story.
