3.09: Unfinished Business

Saw last nights boxing episode. My fear of the soap operaization (new word)grows.

...and I know Starbuck is crazy as a bag of unnumbered spanners and very tough... but physics. She boxes Apollo who is probably 60 pounds heavier and twice as strong. No way.

Starbuck . . . she really messed Apollo up, emotionally. She's a coward for running away from a good thing. I wonder if her flight has something to do with her former relationship with his dead brother? Why is she such a hard case? Strange though: I still feel sympathy for her.

Andrew, I'm not worried about soap-opera-ization. The things we're learning about these people make sense, and the plots don't descend into soap opera nonsense (no long-lost evil twins who die on the operating table and then come back alive to marry, divorce, remarry, redivorce, attempt suicide, and then have their gay friends' baby on an island in the Pacific). The tradition of grudge-boxing to avoid bloody feuds seems eminently useful on a battleship and even more useful in such a closed society from which there is absolutely no escape.
