Re: Random Facts Thread

Ooh, we had athread like this in the lounge. It was very interesting. "Factoids" it was called.

Hmm...well...During a storm a lightening strike once killed all the black sheep in a herd but left all the white ones alive.

On the subject of lightning, it strikes the same square quarter of a mile once a century.

It is impossible to tickle yourself, unless you manage to find that one tiny spot on the roof of your mouth and tickle it with your tongue!

Apparently there is one that rhymes with purple...Argh, I can't remember what it is though. I seem to recall that it's something to do with horses reins or saddle or something (??) Well, if anyone else watches Q.I, perhaps you'll remember and help me out!

Re: Random Facts Thread

You might be thinking of bridle.

I got a the QI "Book of General Ignorance" for my birthday. There're some interesting facts in there.

Such as the baseball, one of the national sports of America, was invented in England. Some American visitors liked the idea, and taught some Americans to play it. An army general (or some other high-up patsy) liked the game so much that he claimed it was an American game (because he was patriotic like that).
