So does anyone know what Mr Jerry Doyle is up to these days? He was by far my favourite character, and in many ways the most real. (in my humble opinion)

Looks like it. Wouldn't surprise me if he took another go at politics sooner or later. He did stand as a Republican candidate for the California state legislature some years ago IIRC, but didn't get elected.
