Re: Gemmels most dangerous/deadliest character Decado would cane druss. He'd easily find an opening in his gueard, and cut him down. They even say in white wolf, that a skilled swordsman could easily beat an axe wielding maniac. What about Tenaka Khan, he's deadly.

Re: Gemmels most dangerous/deadliest character Were all forgetting about Cadoras though. The man was pretty much Waylanders equal and he did help rescue him from a **** load of Nadir. Granted he's not a major character but he was supremely deadly nonetheless.

Re: Gemmels most dangerous/deadliest character In a fair fight Druss hands down. As mentioned previously all other charaters who are in the same world have heard of Druss and none even go so far as to compare their skills against him, Druss is simply on a level of his own. If Its not a fair fight then Waylander, he's an assasin that even the assasins are scared of so he'd definately be the list.

Re: Gemmels most dangerous/deadliest character Hi all. I think Antikas Karios from Winter Warriors was pretty deadly. He is for me the best swordsman. All in all though I'd say Druss was the meanest - although i seem to remember that he was sure he would have lost to Klay - but Waylander was the most deadly. so I'm going for Waylander.

Re: Gemmels most dangerous/deadliest character In my opinion, Druss is the legend...beyond compare, the ultimate fighting machine. with regards to swordsmen...I like Skillganon but i think that Decado and Dace are the two best - they both were not 100% sane... Who was better? Decado against the Thirty - Decado against Skillganon vs Dace against those alien dudes (can't remember the book)

In Legend Druss faces Nogusha, the greatest living swordsman among the Nadir. He is tired from days of endless fighting, and he is twice the age of the Nadir champion. Druss still kills him. If any swordsman came close enough to kill Druss he would probably die himself, because Druss would cut him down even if he was mortally wounded. | |

Re: Gemmels most dangerous/deadliest character I recon the deadliest enemy to have would be Waylander the soul stealer (before he got his conscience back) but I would hate to piss of the moidart with huntseeker at his side. The deadliest person to fight in combat would be Druss, because in swords of night and day Skillgannon tells young Harrod that no one could get in range of those blades and live ( something along those lines anyway) best swordsman would be Decado or Skillgannon in his own body but here I would like to say maybe Rage although his ability to studied his opponent gave him an advantage with out time to study he would lose his advantage and he duelled with a single blade unlike the other 2 so over all I would say Decado because even tho one of his opponents could read his mind he still cut him up.

I think what Skilgannon said was that the only sure thing about a contest like that was that it would be short. The axman would leave many openings, but in order to get there you'd have to come within reach of the axe. Also, Druss' strength was that he was always advancing. I don't think it would matter how good you were with the sword, a huge axman charging at you has a pretty good chance of causing a worse wound in you than you can in him. I vote Druss, though I think Rage could give him a run for his money. | |

Re: Gemmels most dangerous/deadliest character I think that there would be a grand melee in the centre with one person emerging victorious, which waylander would then shoot with his crossbow and claim the title. Brains overcome brawn.

Re: Gemmels most dangerous/deadliest character hi all first post what about bress he beat armed soldiers with a tree branch and chrarged mounted soldiers when druss mother died, and when the village was attacted he attacted mounted armed men too.thats pretty hard if you ask me, as for main roles in his books its got to be druss for sure, lol no black shaft from a skulking assasin can stop the legend, druss would say watch where you point that thing laddie then snaga would sweep in a murdorus ark killing waylander.then you would here the sound of weapons hitting the ground and every great fighter from gemmel would run hearing the sounds of a mad black clad giant laughing with a great axe swinging above his head.....job done

Re: Gemmels most dangerous/deadliest character I've read a lot of gemmell's books (just finished Waylander II) but I need to reread the ones I have to get the characters back in my mind. My instincs tell would tell me that noone can kill Druss and get away with it, but then again, noone can better waylander.

Re: Gemmels most dangerous/deadliest character I would say The best Swordman is Tenaka Khan plus he could do his deadly dance ,martial arts looking moves. I would say he would beat Decado, the ice killer was great but he wasnt Tenaka Khan.
