| Re: The Heritage of Shannara! I bought the book today!!!! I never knew the Hobbit was also called, "There and back again." The cover looks different from the ones in the library, but I think thats cause it has been reprinted many times before. I can't wait to read it though. I haven't read the LOTR trilogy yet, but I've watched the movies =/ |

| Re: The Heritage of Shannara! Good onya gal!! A fine choice I must say! There are many covers actually, I love the weirdly drawn one, done in the think lines, a black and green cover. Looks odd you could say... here it is Image:Hobbit cover.JPG - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I love that cover! Yeah There And Back Again, if you remember that was Bilbo's book title at the end of the LOTR films. Clever. 'Ponders' I will have to reread that one, yes I know I said I don't normally re-read books in the 'Reread' Topic but that one can be my exception. Hmmmmm, you got the ol gray matter going Kitera! I have a worn, loved copy of the Hobbit that I read, was parents nicked it from em hehe! and an unread copy that I keep, all neat and tidy. Here is my neat and tidy one, one in the middle - 42 And my nicked one in the middle, and my graphic novel on the left - 62 That was a long thread, sorry. Bit aces for getting it. Hope you enjoy, and if ya don't mind maybe tell moi what you thought of it when you fin it. |

| Re: The Heritage of Shannara! Hehehe I got the weirdly drawn one; the one on your first link. It was kind of weird when I got it, it just stooof on the shelves as if it was waiting for me to buy it =] Or maybe I'm just strange *laughs* Ohh I forgot to add, the one I got, the circle in the cover isn't blank, its red =S WOw you really must love The Hobbit, since you have a few copies. The one you got, the 3rd link looks pretty =] *sighs* But I won't be able to read it until I finish off the Heritage of Shannara series first, only 2 more books to go until the Hobbit! So what book are you reading now? Last edited by Kitera : 6th January 2007 at 10:39 PM. Reason: Needed to add something =] |

| Re: The Heritage of Shannara! I actually remember enjoying the Heritage of Shannara series, more than the Sword of Shannara. Not that I didn't like the Sword of Shannara, mind you; I loved it. I just loved Heritage even more. |

| Re: The Heritage of Shannara! With red huh? I think I know that one. Nice. Aye, you can't go wrong with a book that jumps out at you. Yeah Hobbit is cool. It'd be cool if they made the film of it. What be I reading? I am currently reading Peter Beagle's A Fine And Private Place, just a really nice story. Now sword and sorcery stuff which is my thing but still excellent. Also got the Gormenghast Trilogy on the go but coz that one is soooooo long I need breaks from it. Good idea to finish off the series you are on, otherwise your brain goes fuzzy on the details. lol Then woohoo to the Hobbit. |

In the Heritage of Shannara, they mentioned Allanon and Brin and Jair Ohmsford. Are they in the sword of Shannara series? Which comes first? the sword of Shannara or the one I've got? Saolta Oiche: I've been getting into the LOTR thing lately, mainly cause of the game the return of the Kings =S *Laughs* Gandalf is in the Hobbit!!! He's one of my favs in the movies.

Allanon is in the Sword of Shannara series, that I remember. I think Brin and Jair are from the Wishsong of Shannara, which is the last of the original Shannara series. I could be wrong, though I'm relatively sure I'm correct. I haven't read them in quite some time. I blame Robert Jordan for that.

| Re: The Heritage of Shannara! Yeah good ol Gandalf. He's pretty cool in it! Sounds like you're having one3 of those 'Walking down memory lane' moments. :-D The Ohmsfords were in the Sword Of Shannara book, but who or which I dunno. |

Yeah, I think that's one of my favorite things about all of the Shannara books. There would be references to the earlier books and characters, and it's just like "yeah, I was there, I know. He WAS amazing."
