| Who is R.A.B (Harry Potter) i was just wondering if anyone would want to share their ideas on this subject of Harry Potter and the Mystero\ious R.A.B. i believe it is Series Black brother who i think is calle Relius or somethin. Rowling seemed sad when she cut of the Black's and this is a chance for her to write more about them. But that is only my opinion |

| If you see a stranger... | Re: Who is R.A.B (Harry Potter) Regulus Black is the popular guess, although you can never be sure with Rowling. I think there is another thread about this somewhere - maybe in the Rowling author section. I'm just waiting for a release date or something, anything, on the next book. Once the date is established I can have a HP marathon and reread 1-6. I'll have to try and piece together the clues about RAB then. Oh, and welcome to the chronicles. |

| Re: Who is R.A.B (Harry Potter) ow thanks, yer when the seventh book comes out i will have a marathon through them all as well. i cant wait. do u think she wants to bring back in the connection with the Black's into her stories again? also someone told me that Dumbldore may not be dead but i believe it slightly. THey said because of Snapes Superior strength in magic he could say something but mean somethin else. like he said Avada Kadava but he actaully ment a stunning spell. But then who knows what Rowling is plotting in her mind. wat r ur thoughts |

| Give it time to work | Re: Who is R.A.B (Harry Potter) Theres no way Dumbledore could be alive unless he had a clone or something like that. He fell out of a tower that we don't know the hight of but are beliving that its the tallest tower in the place. That would have broken some bones. Then he was...lets say put... into a marble tomb and buried. Theres still his portait in the Head masters office. To R.A.B. He is very possibly Regulus Black or he could be someone we know nothing about. What about someone from the old Order Of The Phoenix? I dont think so but its possible. And Shouldnt this thread be in the JR Rowling section? |

| Re: Who is R.A.B (Harry Potter) Here's something interesting to think about: In English, the name was given R.A.B. I heard (and I'm not 100% on the validity of this) that in the German version the intials were actually R.A.S. In German, the word for black is "schwarz". Interesting, isn't it? |

| Re: Who is R.A.B (Harry Potter) I am pretty sure it is Regulus Alphard Black, Alphard (his middle name) i think was found on the carpet (released by JKR for fundraising auction for some good purpose) i think. Some believe that R.A.B stands for two man saying that if Dumbledore said two men where required for the job, Regulus could also not have done it alone, perhaps he brought Screacher(or so,the elf) with him explaining perchance part of his odd before though not all(the elf cause the boat only allows one adult wizard, for me that is not the case. I think RAB stands for only one man, so no other wizard, but the screacher think seems an interesting path. As mentioned above in the translated books, you find in german S for Schwartz, in Dutch you get and R.A.Z for Zwart(s) In a Muglly/Leacky interview JKR bassicaly confirms the identity of RAB Besides that his 'death' is a great mystery, and there are many theories saying he is still alive, one even says that Snape is Regulus Black. Even though i consider this unlikely, the mysterious circumstances regarding his vanishment added to the rest make it seem quite obvious that R.A.B is indeed Sirius older brother. |

| Re: Who is R.A.B (Harry Potter) I hereby revoke my claims that I believe R.A.B. is indeed Regulus Black. Here's why: An interview that Muggglenet.com had with J.K. Rowling. The link is right here -http://www.mugglenet.com/jkrinterview2.shtml- and here is what the interview said. " MA: R.A.B. JKR: Ohhh, good. [All laugh.] JKR: No, I'm glad! Yes? MA: Can we figure out who he is, from what we know so far? [Note: JKR has adopted slightly evil look here] JKR: Do you have a theory? MA: We've come up with Regulus Black. JKR: Have you now? MA: Uh-oh. [Laughter] JKR: Well, I think that would be, um, a fine guess. MA: And perhaps, being Sirius's brother, he had another mirror - JKR: [drums fingers on soda can] MA: Does he have the other mirror, or Sirius's mirror - JKR: I have no comment at all on that mirror. That mirror is not on the table. [Laughter from all; Jo's is maniacal.] MA: Let the record note that she has drummed her fingers on her Coke can in a very Mr. Burns-like way. " |

| Re: Who is R.A.B (Harry Potter) There's a lot of evidence to say its Sirius' little brother - first starting that the Blacks are mentioned a lot in the plot - Siriusw in the first chapter of the first book. Grimmauld place is adopted as HQ of the Order of the Phoenix, symbolising its importance and that of the Black family. Bella Black is Voldie's right hand, and Sirius is (he's still alive!) kinda like Dumbldore's, in a way. The name thing points to it being a Black, and Dumbledore himself says that 'Voldemort had his spies just like i had mine' or something like that. Regulus could be the spy...theoretically. he might have accidentally found out about the horcrux and gone (with Kreacher) to get it, without telling Dumbles. it would explain why Kreacher is completely nuts...he was made to drink the potion. it would also explain the 'heavy locket that none of them could open' in Grimmauld Place - which JKR would not have mentioned unless it was significant |
