Hi everybody, Not so easy to write in english, but I'll do my best. "IT" !!!! Everything is in this little world. I had nigthmares about giant spiders for quite a few weeks after I read it. And one day, in a purely sadistic curiosity, how would IT appear to me? Terrifyng isn't it? My personal and most terrible fear would be a giant black and yellow wasp with an enormous sting!!! I do hate flying bugs, especially those with sting!!! And what about you? What face would IT take for you???

Re: How would IT appear to you? Heh, seems King did well to use the image of a clown for IT, then...but really, whoever thought up the idea of clowns as funny and cuddly and a great treat for small children was sick and twisted!

Re: How would IT appear to you? Maybe it's an age thing but I never saw a scary clown until I saw Pennywise in the miniseries on TV. And by that time I was way to jaded to be really scared of anything that wasn't physically threatening me.

Technophobe wanders around, sits down, grabs a ginger snap from his pocket, jumps up* *** shouts " Mills & Boon books" - shudders and takes a bite out of his ginger snap - says "DIY programs" then wanders off again muttering **people that don't like Eddings books** |

Re: How would IT appear to you? It would have to be moths. I don't get them. What is their purpose? They fly around light bulbs and keep getting burned, EH? You think they would have evolved to realise a freakin' lightbulb!!!!!

Re: How would IT appear to you? Hmmm. As the shape it takes for each individual is from their own personal symbolism, and hits at a persistent (if often unconscious) fear, I'm not sure if it would have an appearance with me. The only one that comes to mind is so personal that I don't feel comfortable stating it here; but that one might apply, as it would tend to pick something that had both attraction and the terror element (hence Pennywise, an embodiment of playfulness, mischievousness, impulsiveness and illogic that is turned to cruelty, mockery, the senselessness of so much death, pain and suffering in the world, and the often inscrutable nature of the world around them to a child). If not that particular thing (of which I remain doubtful), then it would more likely be a feeling or impression, nothing so concrete as an image; something to completely undermine my views of the nature of reality, basically.

Re: How would IT appear to you? Big blocks of squeaking polystyrene stereo (or any large item) packing foam. The squeaks make me shudder. A whole creature like that squeaking after me would be the end.
