Re: Dragon riders That's terrible news about Whelan. Well, from what I know, there are concept artists for movies, then there are the people who actually take the artwork and put it into production. Hopefully all it takes is a license from Whelan to use his art. I would love to see this happen, does it show?

Re: Dragon riders Well Whelan's work is the first I ever saw so like you Talysia it has stuck with me. I never knew he had a medical condition, how sad. I'd hate dragons to look too cute though, in the books holders and such are terrified by them.

Re: Dragon riders yeah, i totally agree...no cutesy, little baby-talk thing going on-that'll definatly put me off! also another problem for me would be the eyes...you know how they're supposed to have all the different color facets? i don't want to get my hopes up, but please-don't ruin the eyes for me!!! i have an odd interest in eyes... *sighs gustilly and thinks of F'lar's beautiful amber eyes* *chuckles*

| Lady of Autumn | Re: Dragon riders I forgot about the facets of the eyes. I'd like to think that if they're going to the trouble of making a film, that they'd get the details right down to the last. Perhaps they could portray the eyes like the facets on gemstones? (Although I'm not too sure whether that would look right) |

Re: Dragon riders I've always sort of imagined them like the eyes of a fly, only not covering such a large part of their head. Oh, and they change color according to the emotional and physiological state of the dragon.

Re: Dragon riders i personally want to see if they will do anything with between Since that is a major portion of the riders lives it should be shown in the movie (!NOT JUST A BLACK SCREEN WITH A DRAGON!)...so old school!

Re: Dragon riders I read Eragon before I saw the Movie, noted all the hype about the 17 year old kid making a novel blah blah blah, reading it I was also noting this idea, that concept, this plot gimmick all in a book attempting to be described as a new different idea. I agree that there is ALWAYS room for dragon stories on the big screen. I think that Moviegoers are a lot more tolerant about arriving in the middle of a story, they ARE conditioned to expect some back story to where they came in since NOBODY expects a back screen with a blinding flash and rapid motion of the universe forming , or start with a black screen and an allpowerful voice pronouncing "let there be light" Some of Anne's charm is that every story I've read HAS started somewhere in the middle. OK, you guys have talked about how integral parts of the story would push the ratings to the more mature end of the spectrum... at which point a number of watchers might not go see it. personal feeling is too bad for them. the major plot concepts that NEED to be in there to make DRoP unique is reflected in the extents of the bond between dragon and rider. Impression. this needs to be there. shows how the bond is formed, and how life changes. Dragonflight impressions were fairly gory, this will pop to pg-13 easy. now mating flights. green and gold, depending on how they are directed and portrayed, this could keep the -13 rating, or could push it straight to x. the other facet of the bond is when it is severed. talking up Lytol if they do dragonflight, to show the effect on a human. and C'gan's death and his dragon later. you guys might be right though dragonflight has only a ferw heavy action parts to it. they might be able to stretch it to a couple hours. but likely someone will write more into it. or they might try to push the first triogy into a single movie. (hopefully not, too much compression and people would be lost in time skipping a decade at a time)
