red dwarf analysis ...

hi guys i ere new to this parts...

always have fond memories of RD and have just ordered the 'just the epiodes' dvd becasue i plan to look at RD as part of a 3000 word essay i need to do by april-ish.

What i generaly wanted is any reccomendations for websites that analysis RD in great detail - not a general review but more on the post production element of the series. I plan to do an episode from season 2 or three (not deided yet).

below is the breif ive been given - its a Broadcast Post Production course (rave.ac.uk). I hope you dont think im trying to get someone to do my work for me - jsut want source material that i can get my teeth into.

Obvioulsy the genre will be sci-fi comedy

BREIF

pt01- general stuff about the genre

You will choose a genre and particular tv programme that exemplifies that genre and analyse both in fine detail.
With reference to the genre: (1000 – 1500 words)
what are the defining characteristics, how has this genre evolved, what are the seminal programmes and strands, who is the target audience, what are the future trends – has post production technology played a part in this.

pt02 - specific RD analysis

With reference to your chosen programme: (1000 – 1500 words)
how does it conform to your genre definition; who is the target audience; what are the key postproduction features of your chosen programme; how is the story told – why is it told this way; define the structure of the programme; in what ways could you improve the ‘model’ in postproduction.
