Re: Who listens to what music?

Methinks this thread belongeth in music, and not general book discussion.

Re: Who listens to what music?

Fergie belongs on that list as well, along with some 50 Cent and Gwen Stefani. *heave*

Okay seriously, music is something that almost nobody will ever agree on in exactly the same way. Some of the things I love might sound like absolute crap to some of you, and vise versa, but that doesn't mean that one of us is wrong, and the other is right. Just something to consider.

Re: Who listens to what music?

Would you accept "anything they pay me for"? Only it's not like being in, say, a music store, where you just tolerate whatever is the flavour of the month; to mix it right, I have to raise enthusiasm for it, get into it, at the drop of a synthesizer. What is more, I'm bound to hear every number several hundred times before it's finished with; a bit like having a five year-old, excepts that this one's not only aggressively enthusiastic about his latest creation but bigger than me, and I'm not allowed to scream "Turn it off !!!"
So I have to be able to empathise with Stravinsky one day and a Celine Dion wannabe the next, and not merely smile and be sympathetic, but actually enjoy, and be able to make suggestions as to how to improve, the day's selection. Multiple personality disorder is insufficient; this is multiple taste deformation.
Still, it beats working for a living.
