Hello from the gin fairy

Hi everybody! My name is Kim Lakin. I am a writer of dark fantasy and SF. I was fortunate enough to befriend Brian at this year's Fantasyson and he introduced me to Chronicles. My first novel, Tourniquet: Tales from Renegade City, is being published by Immanion Press, release date Easter 2007. I'm currently enjoying the process of working with my editor on the final draft of Tourniquet, and attending various cons about the country. I'd love to help out with advice on the reality of working as a writer for a living, and in any way I can with edits, ideas, etc in the bit of spare time I have left - hehe. I'm looking forward to making new friends through Chronicles! Love and light, Kimberlina xxx

Re: Hello from the gin fairy

Welcome to Chronicles! Congratulations on the book! (*envious* hehe). I'm sure you'll find plenty to do around here and many people to befriend (we're a nice bunch, if a little insane...you'll see what I mean when the welcomes start flooding in...)
Hope you bump into you around the Chron corridors, and once again, Welcome!

Hi Kim & welcome to the forums.
I'll be sure to keep a look out for that. It's a catchy title too, btw

Hello and welcome to Chronicles! A couple of pointers:

1-The basement can be dangerous or just plain silly fun, depends upon your mood.
2-You are lucky that GOLLUM is currently under the weather.
3-Sadly, Lacedaemonian isn't.
4-Watch out for

Re: Hello from the gin fairy

We wish to state catagorically that there is no sanctioned insanity on the Chronic Network. While a few lunatics are bound to slip through security from time to time, we do our best to ferret them out and dispose of their bodies in a safe and responsible fashion. I mean, we don't dispose of them in the traditional sense, because that would be crazy. No, what happens is we take them out by the river, well, not the river so much, but we undertake to make sure we, um, alert the proper authorities, and that the whole situation is resolved without cannibalism. That, in a nutshell, is why the Chronic Network does not have one scrap of insanity. We would remind those who perpetuate that stereotype that barbecue season is just around the corner.

So, to reiterate, welcome to the Chronic Network where no insanity is.

Hi, there, and welcome. You've already been told about some of the danger spots (I'm wondering what dwndrgn was about to say, when she disappeared.....), so I'll just say: glad to have you here, and I look forward to seeing your input.

Re: Hello from the gin fairy

Ah, that's why they call it a con! He did warn you that this place is severely habit forming, if not actually physiologically addictive, and should have warning notices on each page? No? Me neither. Still, you're here now, make yourself comfortable, this could be a longish stay.
Oh, yes, welcome in. Sanity? I'ts all a matter of convention (so, we're back to conventions now, are we?) Within the fourums the various different divergences from the conventional norm seem to mesh well enough that the social median value is basically irrelevant, so what is this "sanity" reference worth?
So, we know what you write (or will in a few months), what do you enjoy reading? When you're not doing specific research for the writing, that is. Inquisitive too. Interests, likes & dislikes, tastes and lacks of taste, everything.
Doubtless be seeing you around.

Hah fantasycon. I was there too. Reading your introduction I almost feel like you're a sheep introduing yourself upon entering the jungle. I almost feel like I should warn you not to eat, agh well no, do you want a peanut?

spoiler: (highlight text to read)
These peanuts can cause serious brain damage if you still have one, also you can have sudden urges to eat taco's or function as one of scalem's minions
