To be the moderator, do you have to have the credit check or the test like my sister took at the Department of Motor Vehicles? Just asking to make sure.

Lewis County, Middle-Tennessee - one hour out of Nashville.

Rear-end of nowhere, rather.

Ah, you must be in the place we affectionately call the back-end of beyond. How much longer will you be in the States?

It's simply a case of looking at who is constantly on the boards here, how long have they been around, and do they seem reliable enough to give them a "finger on the buttons".

And also - only if we need any moderators.

I think this place has grown to a point where it really needed some new moderators to help the community. I try to do things in small measure, though.

The worst part is when I ask someone to be a moderator, and then they find themselves too committed to other things. Then if I remove moderator status it can seem like a "demotion".

It really isn't - being a moderator isn't a promotion - just a responsibility.

Growing communities need to shift various responsibilities around the community, to help it grow stronger.

And if someone doesn't feel they can keep up with that then there's nothing wrong with that - we all have outside lives, and different levels of commitments.

I sincerely hope that no one ever thinks bad of being a member of the community here, whatever the role. I'm glad to see everyone here, in whatever capacity they feel most comfortable with.

Brian, as always i am extremely greatful for the warm reception and safe haven that i found on this forum. I'm quite happy to be able to play safely and have others doing the responsibility thing for me.

I must say Brian, that this is one of the only forums I've felt really welcome on. A very nice atmosphere, if such a thing is possible...

Yes your right Caladangrood. Haven't seen any squabling and bickering here like I seen in some chatrooms and not to mention getting hit on by filthy minded males. I like it here to for the imagination and I have a few nice sisters here I can talk to.

Everyone is, of course, entitled to their own opinion and I will not deny that there are many things that the US as a nation, and several individuals who represent the nation, do that are downright wrong. However, I feel moved to inform you that quite a bit of the information given in that 'documentary' was edited to lean a certain way and taken out of context to make it sound like he wanted it to. The film is not so much of a documentary but more of a propoganda film (done quite intentionally to be so - he admits that he made the film to show certain people in a bad light), using bits and pieces of this or that - things that may be completely innocent and correct but when placed together show a non-favorable light on the subjects. This is actually true of almost any documentary out there. The fact is that the filmmaker has to pick what to film, what to edit out, who to interview, etc. and many of these actions can, either intentionally or not, leave bits of the story out. So, one should always do several things when watching a documentary:
1) Pay attention to who is filmed and interviewed - did the filmmaker get both sides of the story?
2) Take everything with a grain of salt. Just as 'reality tv' edits bits of their stuff to make things seem more emotional or exciting, so do filmmakers. Of course they want their film to be moving, so you must understand that the film has been edited with that in mind.
3) Always try to see if there is another documentary showing the opposing ideals/thoughts/actions and see if their stories match.
Once you've done all this, you should then watch it over again with new eyes.
