New star wars films coming soon.

One of my mates in Italy heard about some new star wars film being filmed at the moment. As a dedicated Jedi, he checked out the film set and was very surprised to find that it was a very serious & professional set. he came away very excited, babbling on and on about how cool it was.

(i'm not old enough to put html links in my messages yet)

but looks really cool to me. if u go back to the home page there is a trailer as well.....ummmmmm.....nice!

its set in the same time line as star wars, so has jedi's & light sabres & the force & space ships & siths & cloaks & robots & more space ships & more light sabres & lots of cool stuff.

don't know if it will be in english or italian? shot in italy, web-site is mostly in italian, but has an english name!

DARK RESURRECTION is a short no-profit film inspired by the universe created by George Lucas.
The movie will be split in two chapters, each of them will be about 40 mins of running time.
A few centuries after EPVI in the official Timeline, DR tells the story of a young Jedi apprentice and his mentor in a period of great changes in the balance of galaxy.

I think they will. They need you, more than you know.

Re: New star wars films coming soon.

Plenty of fan films around if you know where to look. George Lucas boasted of shooting and editing the three prequel movies on video and computer equipment available on any store. So, if you're good enough, all the effects can be duplicated, and some have done a pretty decent job.

Lucas himself has said he'll never do another movie again, Star Wars or anything else. Currently he's developing one animated and one live action TV series, concentrating on the approx. 20 years between the prequels and the classic series.

He's working on a film about fighter pilots (or something). WWI or II I think.

And of course the collaboration with Spielberg on Indiana Jones IV.

I wonder if they'll get sued?
In the past, George Lucas has been very "dark side" when it comes to unauthorised people using his franchise without express permission and involvement

They'll only get sued if they attempt to make money on it. If not, GL has been very supportive of fan efforts, even being a judge on contests of SW fan films.

I guess thats why its a "non-profit" film. I did think this was strange at the time :

Yup. All fan films are like that.

Maybe we need a section to discuss fanfic and fan films?

Re: New star wars films coming soon.

I like the fanfic idea...as I am writing a story that weaves in and around the Original Trilogy, from the perspective of a Sandtrooper. As for fanfilms, I have worked on two, Sins of the Jedi and Revelations. They are a blast to make and even more fun to see online for all to enjoy.

(I am Holo Jedi #5 in Revelations) along with other behind the scenes roles.
