| Vote for Jan/Feb/Mar Titles Ok, here are the eight titles you have to vote on for the first three months of next year. Remember, this is all in fun, nobody is forced to read a book if they don't feel like it. However, it is also done to stretch our horizons, possibly read something new and different and discover new authors and friends. So think about that as you vote, not necessarily what you want to read, but what might be new and interesting to read. Try something new. Taste a new flavor. As stated in the nomination thread - the three titles with the most votes will be respectively the choices for January, February and March. And I will state again, in bold and uncompromising text (you can just feel the forceful personality here can't you??) DO NOT VOTE IF YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED IN READING THE BOOK OR JOINING IN ON THE DISCUSSION. This way with a record of votes we have a close approximation of the number of people who plan on reading the book and coming back and enlightening us with their opinion of the work. The Book Club has already folded once due to lack of participation, and I would really like for it to succeed. January will be our test month. So, vote, read, discuss, make me happy!! |

| Goblin Princess | Re: Vote for Jan/Feb/Mar Titles I voted for Scar Night. Because it sounds interesting and because most of the others are old, and I don't see people being able to run down to their local bookstore and pick them up. It would be nice if we started out with a real discussion, not a lot of people saying they couldn't get the book. |

| Re: Vote for Jan/Feb/Mar Titles I voted for Moon, for no particular reason. Dwndrgn, is it OK if I just sign up to participate in January? I want to see how it goes, timewise, before I make promises about February and March. |

| Re: Vote for Jan/Feb/Mar Titles Darned good question. Unfortunately our software allows us either unlimited voting or one per person. No in between (that I could find, Brian may have other thoughts). So, it is one vote per person. |

| Wherever I Am, I'm There | Re: Vote for Jan/Feb/Mar Titles I'm not going to vote, but I still plan to participate, even if I only read the first months. I would like to read something different and I've not read any of those before, so I'd be happy with whatever choice is made. |

| Re: Vote for Jan/Feb/Mar Titles FYI, having read and enjoyed all of Daniel Keyes Moran's books, I did a search for The Long Run on: eBay, Barnes & Noble, Amazon US and Amazon UK. The cheapest book I found was about $14.00 US at B&N. The Amazon starting price was $89.00. Just thought you should know. I have a battered paperback that since I have read and enjoyed it several times, I'd be willing to send it to anyone who wants it for the price of the postage. |

| Re: Vote for Jan/Feb/Mar Titles Well I voted for the Sara Douglass book obviously, but I really really want to read Scar Night too. I saw a write up of it in a little brochure I get from a book shop I'm a member of, and it looks hella cool. I was definitely planning on buying it anyway after Xmas, so it would work out really well if it turns out to be a book club book! |

Amazon.com: Used and New: Long Run, The Amazon.co.uk: Used and New: Long Run I checked before I nominated because I knew it was out of print.

When I checked Amazon, I didn't look at the list. But on the title page it said new and used starting from $89.95. Must have misread. Sorry for the misinformation.
