Re: What is your favourite Sk Book ?? Gerald's Game is unlike the others, but I still like it...Oh, hell, I did this before, I love all the books! Hmmm...my favourite...it's very difficult for me to say...I can safely say that from the Dark Tower series, The Wastelands is my favourite. But overall? Well I did really enjoy Cell, so I think that's high on my list. And The Shining, purely because I think it's the only book that I've read that really did have that chill-factor. Least favourite...Needful Things didn't enthrall me like the rest, although it did have some delightfully gory bits! And there was a collection of short stories, it may have been Four Past Midnight that I couldn't really get into.

Re: What is your favourite Sk Book ?? I agree that It is his finest work. I love all the interwoven threads of Derry's history and all the seperate tales of woe from the Ironworks episode to the lynch-mod justice style tale. It all serves to build the situation up to the climactic scene(s) as well as adding a sense of reality and solidity to the whole piece. 10 out of 10. Loved it. Maybe you would enjoy Geralds Game more if you viewed it and Delores Claibourne as companions pieces. I think this worked for me on a second reading of each. It has been a while so I may be wrong. I may have to add these to my 'Read Next' list. I didn't particularly enjoy From A Buick 8 but maybe a second go might be better. On the list it goes.....

Re: What is your favourite Sk Book ?? Yes, I think that's the same with me with From a Buick 8. It is quite an unusual one, but it is good. And I agree, read Delores Claiborne along with Gerald's Game...as with all of his books, these two are nicely entwined.

Re: What is your favourite Sk Book ?? My favorite SK read is The Long Walk, a Bachman Book. Oh- and Mist, and...Ok, I really like his short stories in general. They are funky, and cool, and quite chilling. I wasn't a big fan of Gerald's game or Delores Claiborne.

Re: What is your favourite Sk Book ?? My favorite has to be The Stand a classic in epic proportions but also loved a lot of short stories and novellas like popsy, the long walk, and the ledge. The worst I read was the Tommyknockers and although I might be shot down for this I didn't like the dark tower series

Re: What is your favourite Sk Book ?? Nah, we won't shout at you (we'll just talk about you behind your back!). I can see how the Dark Tower isn't for everyone... It is quite unlike his usual work. Mind you, you haven't said how far you've tried to get into them...If you've only had a crack at the Gunslinger, I heartily recommend you push on to the next book, The Drawing of the Three...Gunslinger is my least favourite of the series, but then it gets SO MUCH better in the second and third book (the third being my favourite, yay!)

Re: What is your favourite Sk Book ?? My favourites are IT, Salem's Lot, Needful Things and The Shining. There's also the short story Popsy which appears in Nightmares and Dreamscapes. The least favourites would be Dolores Claiborne, Hearts In Atlantis, The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon and Gerald's Game. I also really like Shawshank Redemption and Green Mile and his attemp at fantasy Eyes Of The Dragon.

Re: What is your favourite Sk Book ?? Oh yeah, I tried to read The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon and got quite bored of it...so there we go, a SK book I don't actually like! SHOCKING! Has everything gone wrong? Is water now flowing upwards? ![]() I think Eyes of the Dragon was the first SK book I ever read and I really enjoyed it.

Re: What is your favourite Sk Book ?? *sigh* All right, I'm really going to drive some people crazy here... what about the uncollected stories? Any of you have any of the original publications of those? And if so, what ones would you consider to be among his best? http://www.bevvincent.com/king-stories.html This is one such list I've come across.... There are numerous others out there as well....
