Re: Title Update on JKR website

As I said, we're always going to disagree, because that's just my personal reaction to the book. I don't particularly enjoy them anymore (but as I said, I'll read the last one because, hell, there's no reason not to, as they say on Mastermind: "I've started, so 'll finish"!).

Well, maybe you just dont like the series anymore, but i think that if you make a list of what happens in every book you will find that the other ones contain as less or as much as book 6

Re: Title Update on JKR website

everything in the book is some what necessary.

JKR publishers would have cut it right back if it wasn't. im no bookworm or anything but her publishers deal in books!! and really if they think it was way too long or parts of the book had no use to the storyline.. well i believe that they would have done something about it.

if you go back and reread the book u will always pick something new up. there aree hints everywhere! and for me thats the best thing about HP

Re: Title Update on JKR website

I don't think there's anything unnecessary in there, I'm just saying that, for me, it didn't seem like a lot happened in it...but that's probably because, as I said, I'm getting disillusioned by them now, I've been reading them since I was 10, I suppose I'm just getting tired of the HP world! (and before people come back with tirades, I'M getting tired of it, I'm sure that for many it still holds a deep and magicial mystery and intrigue for them)

Re: Title Update on JKR website

yeah i see what u mean there

i took a break after readin the HBP a couple of times.. so now im just gettin back into it refreshing my memory

people interprete text differently. when you grow older, ur mind will mature.
so if u read the same text from when u were younger u would interprete it differently again.
have a try reading it again later on in the future and see what you think about then

Re: Title Update on JKR website

I think that's WHY I'm not so interested in them anymore...because I'm getting older and moving onto other things, HP starts to pale in comparison to other books for me. They still have a certainy novelty about them for me, but I guess I'm just leaving HP behind in my lost youth...Hehe.

Re: Title Update on JKR website

i like hobb and Martin more then JKR, still the world JKR created is awesome.
The storyline in itself is written out superbly, i mean, its not the storyline in itself that makes her books good, cause there are lots of cliches in them (prophecy, good and bad, Harry being from the get go the chosen one and so on), but the writing itself, the way the story is brought is what makes them so good.

Ah, aren't we all...lol. I have two actually, although I wrote them a few years ago, so they're quite immature (in the actual sense), but then age doesn't always matter, having heard recently that an 11 year old is having a story published! Gives hope for us all, but sparks envy as well
I happily let HP go, as it was more of fading off from it...actually no...on reflection, what killed it for me was book 5...it had such potential, but Harry annoyed me all the way through, and I detest the ending to that book. After that, any previous attraction to HP pretty much ended. (FOR ME, remember...I'm not saying that everyone else should agree or even like what I'm saying!)

Re: Title Update on JKR website

Oh god, yes, it's mine too (I'm 19!), although I've got to the point where I've realised it's so very hard to be a successful author (doesn't stop me from wanting it and trying! )
Yes, it is difficult to be original...one of my stories was written during the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy hype and I could see llittle similarities appearing as I wrote! But with all the masses of literature floating around now, you have to have a very, very revolutionary idea to be original. But everyone's got their own style, anyway, so one could recreate Lord of the Rings, for example, and it still wouldn't be like Tolkien's!

Haha, yes I know, I've had a few people make that mistake on here...I'm a girl, and have been mistaked for a boy a few times...must be my manly way of typing!

Ah, you can't do this to me! I'll get it wrong and look like an idiot...um...a boy...no...girl!...no...ok...um...A sheep? That has developed the ability to type brilliantly, despite having cloven feet.
