| Admin and Tea-boy | Favourite characters? I really like Tyrion - the character of someone who gets by on his wits. Even more so because he does so without being arrogantly offensive, as the character could easily have been. And good to see the grudges being slowly holed up. And - if I dare admit it openly - I do like the Lannisters as characters. Even their name is very good. ![]() Probably because everything they do is underwritten with a sense of purpose, no matter the brutality of that. Jaime and Cersei are characters with their own charisma, even if they shock us. The one I have no liking for is Gregor Clegane - he is simply brutality in human form. It will be interesting to see how things pan out with Sandor. |

| Re: Favourite characters? I love Tyrion! He is my favorite. The Lannisters are definitely interesting. Jamie gets his own POV in ASoS(the third book) and Cersei gets hers in AFFC, which hasn't come out yet.![]() My other favorites are Jon, Daenerys, and Arya. I'd have to agree with you about Gregor. Sandor, on the other hand, seems quite interesting. I don't care for Sansa, she seems to be quite the spoiled brat. Here is a link to a site that talks about the series. It makes for quite an interesting read. http://b15.ezboard.com/basoiaf |

| Re: Favourite characters? Tyrion is cool, and I was surprised to discover how much I liked Jamie, considering how we were initially introdced to him. 'The things I do for love.' that is creepy. I can't help but think that Jon Snow and Danys are the cliche fantasy characters of the series. I supose it's a sign of Martin's skill that I find them believable despite their inoriginality. Sansa iritates me... but I find her chapters some of the most intersting to read... so much happens in them. |

| Re: Favourite characters? Just in case anyone hasn't finished reading this yet...*****SPOILERS***** I don't care for Sansa at all. She's spoiled, she lied about the events on the Trident, and she ratted out her father to Cersei. Having said that, I will be interested to see how she matures in the books coming after ASOS. I didn't like Jaime until I read ASOS, I really enhoyed his POV. GRRM has a way of surprising his readers, so I can't wait to see what happens next. |

| Re: Favourite characters? The direwolves are an interesting touch... if they weren't written so well they could be a cliche, but MArtin has avoided that so far. *****SPOILERS***** * * * * * * * * * * * * I can't help but think that Sansa is going to change quite alot. I mean now that she is under the care of Littlefinger (my obsesive friend would say 'now she is his Padawan learner') he's going to train her up into some psycoticly manipulative chick... maybe even a real rival to Cersi. Now that would be interesting. I knida like the idea of one of the Starks becoming evil. |

As for other characters - oh god I love Jamie. I've always liked the Antihero, and Jamie is so perfect and awful. I also like Tyrion, and I find something pitiful and wonderful about Cersei too. I also like Oberon, for all 20-odd pages that he existed! Bastard Gregor. I hate him so much. And I hope the Freys get their comuppance. Caitlyn was impressive for her fortitude and her willingness to do terrible things to save her family. It'll be interesting to see what she'll be like following the events of the third book . . . I also like Danys. Her character has evolved so much, and she's just a little bit scary now. Lucifer | |

| Re: Favourite characters? Has to be Littlefinger. Not so much at the start of the story, but definatley toward the end where you realise he's the one who's been pulling mosta the strings. Gotta luv the guy who's holding all the cards like that |
