Re: Riddle/puzzle game

Oh, don't make me strain myself again! I almost popped a blood vessel last time

Is it really simple like...there are no mayors in that place...or there are no small girls in that place, they were all wiped out by the Great Small Girl Plague of '93!

Nice thought

Look at the words, not what they say.

Okay, if he's just arriving there, how does he know the girl's oration was long and soulful? And why was the band playing while she was trying to orate?

Re: Riddle/puzzle game

Ack...have you seen the Simpson's episode where Bart has to work out the Train equation thing, and he imagines all these people and numbers, and then he starts getting shoved around and the trains end up crashing because he can't work the answer out? Well I feel like that! Salvation army bands are tropping through my head, followed by small singing girls and mayors reaching out to shake people's hands! It's no good...I'll have to admitt defeat (My god, i suck at these...I'm retiring after this!)

Ok:
Its a lipogram - a sentence without a certain letter in it (e) The original book, believe it or not, is 265 pages long, and there is not a single letter "e" in it.

Oldie but goodie:

A woman goes into a hardware store to buy something for her house. When asked the price, the clerk replies, "the price of one is twelve cents, the price of forty-four is twenty-four cents, and the price a hundred and forty-four is thirty-six cents. What does the woman want to buy?

Re: Riddle/puzzle game

No, it's not socks! It's never been socks! I don't know any puzzles with socks in them ! I am not a sock person! Sock is incorrect! Look at my avatar! Does it look like anything that needs socks?

On the other hand, "House numbers" is the correct answer.

*cringe*

Whoa.

Socks might be useful though...although you look like you'd need more than one pair

Re: Riddle/puzzle game

You have 20 socks in a drawer, 10 red and 10 blue. if you were take them out in the dark, how many socks would you have to take out to be sure you had a matching pair?

Re: Riddle/puzzle game

Well for me it doesn't actually matter, because I always wear odd socks! So if I were to get matching pairs, I'd be disgruntled!
