| Sci-fi/Fantasy Weddings Hi, I'm researching a film about Sci-fi/Fantasy weddings and I was wondering if anyone had either had a theme wedding, or was thinking about having one and wouldn't mind telling me a bit about it. Thanks, Dave |

| Re: Sci-fi/Fantasy Weddings For my daughter's wedding -- actually a reaffirmation of vows, since they got married in Las Vegas -- everyone in the wedding party (including the mother of the bride) wore fairy wings. About half of the guests did also. We held the event in my garden, and it was quite magical. We ordered our wings on line; apparently a lot of brides wear wings these days. Some of the sites even referred to them as "wedding wings." During the reception, people were gradually taking off their wings and hanging them on the arbor to keep them from being damaged. After a while, it looked like a flock of giant butterflies had landed there. Right now, my purple gauze wings hang on the wall in my home office, over the computer where I do my writing. My husband and I were more conservative for our own wedding 30+ years ago. No fantasy at all, but we did wear historical garb, circa 1500. I was in a daze the whole day, so I don't remember much about it. I don't know if you've already seen it, but there is a website about a Lord of the Rings theme wedding in the Phillipines: http://www.ouroneheart.com/themed-we...-of-the-rings/ Someone went to an amazing effort. |
